The little guy replied to Mommy and left through that door, closing it behind him. Victoria's heart skipped a beat as she looked at the man earnestly eating dumplings at the table. She didn't really like the time she spent alone with him. At this moment, in the direction of the elevator, the elevator door opened with a "ding" sound. Austin, dressed in a grey suit, stepped down with a laptop in his hand. He just came back from the company. He had wanted to go home, but when he thought of Victoria's concert, he felt it was necessary to come over and tell her that he would be there to watch.

So far, he was just… a question mark. Kevin hesitated. “Austin has already started a new life abroad and clearly doesn’t want to get entangled in the past. Do you think he’ll be willing to meet with our people?” Calvin replied firmly, “Austin is not a coward. He won’t hide in some dark corner begging for a living. That’s not his character.” Kevin agreed. With Austin’s abilities, it did seem like a waste for him to be running a small business overseas. “Understood, President. I’ll make the arrangements.”

His face was the carbon copy of his mom. “Nice home,” I commented with a nod. “Yeah, Janna sure knows how to make a good home out of a scrappy place,” he chuckled. I gave him a flat, unamused look. “This is far from scrappy. You have a lovely place. By the way, where is your mate and son?” “She’s out to meet a few of her friends. She took Austin with her,” he replied. I nodded back. “How old is he now?”

he whispers. "Yes, I think that's a good idea," Mrs. Stephens says, placing her hand on my shoulder. "She needs to rest to gather some strength, but don't let her out of your sight." Brad stands up, pulling me with him as we turn and walk out of the chapel. I wipe tears on his shirt, looking up to see the muscle in his jaw twitch several times. The concerned look on his face stabs at my heart. He's a good guy. I just met him. He shouldn't have to be this strong. Especially not in this dark and twisted world I've now involved him in. I've got to pull myself together somehow. It's me Atticus wants, not him.

Edith nodded. “Since returning, Austin has worked hard to remake himself. He went to college and is an excellent physical therapist with aspirations of furthering his education and opening his own clinic.” Suzanne went to bat for me. “He’s a good guy, Stephen. And you know me, if he acts like his old self, I’ll put him through a wall.” She smiled, linking her arm with mine. “Or a door like she did my grandfather.” I shrugged. “I don’t like this, but I also know I can’t dispute the will of the Goddess or that my sister would kick your booty with both arms behind her back.” Stephen sighed.

Alpha Vaughn’s son Chase is right beside Serena, egging her on and grinning like a fool. I push closer as the bartender hands Serena a lime and she just stares at it for a moment, her throat working as she swallows hard. She’s still holding it in her hand hesitantly when the bartender starts to tip the tequila bottle, the first few drops splashing Serena’s belly as I step forward and the crowd hushes. The bartender looks up and freezes, her wide eyes coming to mine. I shake my head and she immediately yanks the bottle of Patron into her chest and starts to back away.

If you are so interested in my life then find out for yourself! Do not forget your place.” he blinked his eyes severally. I could swear he didn't believe I could talk down at him that way. “Let's welcome the new CEO of Butane Company; let's welcome Miss Kylie Wilson,” the voice of the anchor finally answered his question.

"You clearly still didn't see her as a guest. You're normally very efficient and useful. However, today you've clearly overstepped your boundaries, not once, but twice, and in a single day. Perhaps you've become acquainted with my enemies? You know I can never be too careful." The butler immediately dropped to his knees to beg for his life the moment he saw Austin take a step towards him with a knife in his hand. Austin's intention was clear for anyone to see. Suddenly, a smaller girl placed herself between him and the butler and practically shoved a piece of paper towards his face. This prevented Austin from taking another step forward.

Butler Greg had been sitting idle at home, finding a new job seemed impossible. Austin smiled broadly and said, “I would like to rehire you to look after my mother and take care of the household. I feel uneasy about her being alone without someone we trust.” Butler Greg knew that a job offer was nothing short of a miracle and replied, “It will be an honour to be in your service, Sir.” Austin smiled brightly and said, “Your salary will be adjusted accordingly for the added responsibility of her care. How soon can you start, Butler Greg?” Butler was so happy that he wanted to shout on the rooftop, but he restrained himself and replied, “I will be reporting for duty tomorrow morning, Sir.
