With these thoughts swirling in my mind, I eventually drifted off to sleep. I was roused by the faint chirping of birds combined with the sound of a running shower. I half expected Atticus to demand I change the moment he set eyes on me, but that wasn’t what happened. A knowing grin formed on his face, making him appear several decades younger. His hair was slicked to the side in a respectable combover, and he wore a pin-striped suit that made it look as though he’d been plucked from the 1920’s. “Dressed to kill, I see.
