That photograph was our story, captured in one still frame. I sipped my coffee and exhaled slowly. My novels had always been about love, hope, and perseverance, themes that had grown naturally out of my own life experiences. But lately, I’d been thinking about Luca and Emilia, about how much they’d grown and how they saw the world. I wondered what kind of stories they would want to read, what tales might help them understand themselves and others better.

Another tough question. “Well, um… I feel like it’s personal preference, but truth be told, every writer has, at least once in their lifetime, written at least one story that has significant references or connections to their own life. I won’t lie, I have, too. In fact one of my stories are based entirely on my early life.” I answered truthfully, as best as I could. “You mean… it’s an exact copy? Truly your life story?” Asked another.

Stories about different people. I had written so many over the past year. Stories to process my confusing feelings. Stories about Ryan. Stories about Derek before I knew him. Stories about random guys I found attractive. Stories that were never meant to be read by anyone.

It was an endeavor that aimed to illuminate the darkness of hardship with the radiant light of hope. Abigail, drawing on her background in writing, assumed the role of the storyteller. With a pen in hand and a heart filled with purpose, she began to document the intricate chapters of their journey. “I never thought of it that way. But yeah, it is more a journal though, don’t you think?” He mulls over this a few seconds, using those seconds to finish my tie and he takes a step back to admire it. “I mean, yeah. I’m not sure how I feel when he talks about dead men like this.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" She was silent for a second. "Will you listen?" "Of course,I'm here." "He was never a good father. He abandoned my mother and I. I wasn't always like this. My teenage years were just a complete disaster for me. My mom was locked up in a mental asylum, my new grandma was murdered and my stepmother never cared about me. They only needed me when I was to sign some papers. I was all alone, left in my own little shell. I basically cried myself to sleep every night as a teenager. One time, they made a guy approach me intentionally,then he broke me. They made people I trusted turn against me. They made them betrayers. I was always available for their evil scheme until

I'm very grateful to her, but after years of closing myself off from everyone, it's not easy to open up again. I finished getting ready for school, so I went down to have breakfast. As usual, Aunt Autumn made one of her odd flavoured pancakes. It was purple this time, which was a lot better than the green pancakes she made last time. It tasted like ube, which is a purple yam that we got from my grandmother yesterday. To be honest, despite receiving so much stuff from her, I've actually never met my grandmother. Ever since that accident, the thought of passing by the same place where my mother died... It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

What Inspired Me To Make This Story? Once I saw that so many celebrities and people in general were speaking out against sexual abuse, I want to dedicate a story to them. I didn't write to be like a savior or exploit the situation. I wanted to write this story, because I was sexually abused as a child. I won't go into the full details, because it's too disturbing and traumatic for me to share. But I wanted to give a voice to people who were too afraid to speak out. Also I didn't want to focus the story on myself, because that would have been selfish and not honorable to everyone else who experienced much worse.

And as I looked into the host's eyes, I knew that this was just the beginning of an incredible journey, one that would take me to places I never thought possible. As I continued to share my story, the host's eyes widened in shock and surprise. "Cynthia, I had no idea," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Your book... it's about you, isn't it?" I nodded, feeling a sense of vulnerability and exposure. "Yes, it is," I admitted. "The book is a semi-autobiographical account of my life, my struggles, and my journey as a wife and a woman."

Instead of facing his own demon, Sabrina's father took his own life in front of his family, scarring his own daughter for life. Being a non-fiction novelist, most of my stories are about people’s experiences. I collect facts through research and interviews, then retell the stories through books. My stories, in turn, memorialize their contributions in life and highlight their suffering and pain. This way, they shall be remembered and hopefully, their story helps someone along the way, someone who currently faces these difficulties.
