Glancing at the blinking red light ahead, she replied casually, "Alright." She said it, but she didn’t believe it. After being let down so many times, she’d grown numb. She no longer expected Julian to keep any promise he made. After all, every time he said he’d come home to be with her, something always came up—either a last-minute emergency or a phone call that pulled him away halfway. Autumn wandered around aimlessly for a while, grabbed a bite to eat, and only then remembered she was supposed to head home. Just seeing Julian would remind her of everything between him and Luna.
