First Bite

First Bite

In July. Autumn stood in the library, her breath fogging in front of her. Books along the shelves groaned under a thin sheet of ice. Even the fire in the hearth had guttered into pale embers, too weak to warm the room. She stared down at the Book on the table. Its pages no longer glowed. The once-living ink had turned black. Dead. “She’s here,” Autumn whispered. Tristan stepped beside her. The soulbond flickered between them—erratic, unstable, pulsing like a dying star. He touched her arm, but his eyes were already on the window, sensing what she sensed.

Puck Love Reunited - Book 2 in the Minnesota Ice Series

Puck Love Reunited - Book 2 in the Minnesota Ice Series

“I know, Autumn. I know. But let’s just relish in their moment of glory. Besides, I’ve got horrible period pains right now and cramping. I think I’m going to go down and make myself some hot milk and then get into bed, read for a while and go to sleep.” “Sounds like a good idea, girl. I’ve got some contracts to look through but don’t forget I’ll be with you a few days earlier than the opening.” She tells me as I imagine Autumn tucked up in her large cozy bed, with her black, round reading glasses on, pouring over house sale contracts, in her favorite pink and blue stripey pajamas.

Bilione Reasons Not To Date My Billionaire Ex

Bilione Reasons Not To Date My Billionaire Ex

I say as I take the bags from the bed and put them on the floor. "All I do is rest, I'm tired of resting. If it weren't for the baby I'd be running a marathon just to stretch my legs. All this lying around feels unnatural to me." Of course it does, Autumn was never the one to stay still. She probably misses the cafe and the rush without even realizing it. "Then how about we read for a bit." I walk over to the bed and settle next to her as she leans on my arm while still holding the baby things in her hands.

REBIRTH: MY EX HUSBAND WANTS A SECOND CHANCE

"I've been trying to get the unreleased collection for weeks, but my father froze all my accounts." Charlie's gaze drifted back to Autumn, who had been mute the entire time, observing the exchange with interest. "Autumn Ashton," Charlie said, her voice filled with excitement. "I've heard so much about you. I can't believe this is the first time we've met." Autumn awkwardly nodded, taken aback by Charlie's enthusiasm. "I'm surprised as well, Charlie Fraser," Autumn warmly greeted, trying to hide her intimidation.

“And this. I heard Miss Autumn likes antique texts—I happen to have one in my collection. Bring it to her.” “Alright.” Though Stellar found their enthusiasm a bit unusual, she simply chalked it up to kindness. Later, during her lunch break, she shared the cakes with Autumn and passed along the book, relaying her grandparents’ words. Autumn was clearly touched. “Please thank them for me. When I have the time, I’ll be sure to visit them myself.” She cradled the book gently, flipping through its pages with obvious delight, then picked up a piece of the cake and took a bite.

We Part In Autumn

We Part In Autumn

He turned and ran. … The ceiling fan in the classroom creaked as it turned, while the elderly professor at the podium lectured with great fervor. I propped my chin in my hand. The tip of my pen idly scribbled across my notebook. My phone vibrated in the drawer. My assistant had sent me a message. Eula had fallen into a vegetative state. Luke was taken away by the police as he fled and charged with murder. I set down my pen. A cold smile spread upon my lips.

Remarried After I Secretly Divorced the CEO

Remarried After I Secretly Divorced the CEO(My Ex Begged for Me After My Tech Empire Reveal)

But after just a few seconds, Autumn acted as if she hadn’t seen him and picked up the hairdryer to dry her hair. Julian merely glanced at her before heading into the study on the second floor. Though she had grown used to this, a flicker of disappointment still passed through her heart, but it faded quickly. After drying her hair, Autumn opened her laptop and continued reading up on materials related to CADD. She had given up so much for Julian over the past three years. Now that she’d come to her senses, catching up would take even more effort than before. In the study, Julian was going through emails.

5 star is only so this comment shows !!! IF YOU JUST STARTED READING - STOP! Turn around and find another book! Nearly a thousand chapters and the REPETITIVE EVIL / VILE TREATMENTS of Autumn continues. Book title should be: THE MISERABLE PATHETIC SAD LIFE OF AUTIMN LEWIS !!!

I like the story, but after nearly 300 chapters there is no progress: repeated conflicts, no growth, no romance, no clarity, no regret, no revelations, just a stretched confusing cycle. It’s disappointing and makes me hesitate to subscribe since I may pay for more chapters without change.

Cult of the Crescent Curse

Cult of the Crescent Curse

“Pretty sure he’s over by the Smith machine.” Autumn immediately leans sideways in her chair, peeking dramatically toward the door. “Hold on,” she mutters. “Let me evaluate the vibes.” I choke on a laugh. “You’re ridiculous.” “Shh. I’m profiling.” A beat. Then— “…okay,” Autumn says slowly, settling back into her chair. That is not the reaction I expected. I narrow my eyes. “…Okay what?” Her lips twitch. “Oh, honey.” Suspicion blooms immediately. “What does that mean?”

Hot Summer Nights

Mitch and Randy lifted Autumn from the tub and stood her on a mat, drying her with towels, Randy patting down the last drops of moisture as Mitch released her hair and brushed it into loose waves. She closed her eyes, reveling in the attention, allowing herself to press limply against Mitch as he hoisted her into his arms and carried her to the bed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Autumn is such a magical time for reading, don’t you think? As the leaves change and the air grows crisper, it just feels right to curl up with a good book, maybe sipping on some warm apple cider. I've been putting together my autumn reading list and I'm super excited to share some cozy, atmospheric reads that are perfect for this season!

First off, you can't go wrong with 'The Night Circus' by Erin Morgenstern. This novel is steeped in enchanting imagery and has a somewhat mysterious tone that perfectly matches the autumn aesthetic. The story centers around a magical competition between two young illusionists, and the way Morgenstern weaves lush descriptions of the circus itself is just mesmerizing. Every time I read it, I feel like I'm wrapped up in a dream, wandering through the black-and-white striped tents, and it's just perfect for those chilly evenings.

Another great pick is 'The Secret History' by Donna Tartt. This book grabs you with its elitist academic setting and a group of college students who get tangled up in something far darker than they ever anticipated. The writing is hauntingly beautiful, and the plot unfolds like a carefully crafted autumn breeze—chilly and full of twists. I found myself completely absorbed in their world, and it’s one of those books that keeps you reflecting on the themes of morality and the consequences of choices long after you finish it.

If you’re looking for something a bit lighter yet still perfect for this season, consider 'The Pumpkin Pie Show' by Justin Taylor. It’s a collection of short stories that explore the quirks of life—funny, oddly touching, and bizarre, which makes it easy to pick up and set down between those longer novels. The conversations on identity and the quirky characters are super relatable, and it’s an enjoyable way to embrace the season's themes of introspection and change without diving too deep into something heavy.

Lastly, for the fantasy lovers out there, I have to recommend 'Uprooted' by Naomi Novik. It’s a standalone fantasy novel that offers such a lush world, where the forest is alive and not always in a friendly way. The way Novik describes the changing seasons and the relationship between nature and magic has such an autumnal feel to it. It’s a story of friendship, adventure, and powerful magic that perfectly captures the essence of fall.

These books have been staples in my seasonal reading routine, and I can’t wait for you to dive into them. Each one brings something unique to the table, just like autumn brings a certain charm to our daily lives. Enjoy your reading journey this fall—it’s a perfect time to lose yourself in other worlds!
