Looking up at me from her upside-down position, Blanca's eyes met mine. I refrained from smiling amidst the pandemonium, but there was no denying that Blanca always managed to make life interesting. Out of all the Johnson kids, she and I had a special bond. On my twenty-fifth birthday, she had written an Avengers fanfiction where Bucky Barnes and Captain America were more than just friends. It had been entertaining as hell. "Blanca, are you ready to go?" I asked her, trying to maintain a composed demeanor in the midst of the chaos.

Richard got up from where he sat and went to sit closer to Damon. I closed my eyes as I tried to remember Athena’s smiling face. It’s been months after she had left because of what had happened to me. But it felt longer than that. And once I find her I will make sure that I will never ask these questions again.
