“You needn’t worry, Alpha.” Alessandro answered, “everything is under control.”
My lips pressed thin, the sting sharper because he had chosen to ignore me in front of the elders. Elder Lydia looked at me, and I smiled, doing my best to stay calm. Mia looked at me and shook her head, silently reminding me not to react in a way that I should not. I was no fool, but it did not mean that this was not bothering me.
