“How is that going to help us lure him out?” Amber paced. “Axel and Cole said he was obsessed with me, so I’m sure he’s kept someone somewhere watching my every move, and that person would send reports to him,” she smiled, feeling like a genius. “If there is one thing I know, and I believe from the books I’ve read and the movies I’ve watched, obsessed villains don’t hurt the woman they’re after. They only hurt the man in her life, and I have strictly warned Axel not to leave King mansion until we’ve gotten to the bottom of this.”

"Sir, you have been following her for a week. Aren’t you planning to go down and have a good talk with her?" Mr. Domingo did not stop himself from asking him about his matters. Axel is quietly sitting inside the vehicle in the passenger seat while observing Schina and his rival in love. He wants to explode out of anger at seeing her having fun with someone else, but he can’t do anything other than watching her from afar. He wanted to reveal his thoughts to her, but he was terrified of rejection and being embarrassed as a result. Axel was terrible at expressing himself. He had been calm for years, but when he finally found her, he was worried even when he was sleeping.

“This is hilarious. Marcel has been the one chasing after me. Despite the unreasonable lies, it is now certain that you can’t stop the heart from yearning for what it wants” “I used to respect you….” I cut in. “And I did but since you want to be unreasonable, then I will dance with you” “Leave my brother alone!” “Tell him to leave me alone and see what he would do to you” I crossed my hands over my chest, closing the space between us while whispering in his ear. “Marcel is obsessed with me and just wait till he recovers his memories” Anger flashed across Axel’s eyes. “Every tragic thing that happened that day has your handprint on it. I am sure that I am right”

That’s when I heard footsteps. I turned, half expecting Zade or Roman. But it was Axel. He leaned against the doorway with his arms crossed and his shirt half unbuttoned like he hadn’t bothered to fix it after training. His hair was damp, sticking to his forehead. “You’re still watching that?” he asked. I sighed. “I just can’t stop.” He moved closer. “You should try.” “Why? So I can pretend this doesn’t matter?” “No.” His voice was soft. “So you don’t let him win again.”

My core tightens, and I fidget with Ryker’s mother’s ring like it’s instinct. “Hunter.” Axel rasps his name. “Obsessed with what people think about him. Wants to be known as good and friendly and sociable. But the second you’re in danger, his entire facade drops. Suddenly he’s snapping at anyone who would fuck with you.” The dangerous scent of peppermint and leather spikes through the car, charging the air. If I was smarter, I would back up. Say sorry. But I hold his gaze as I whisper, “And you?” Axel’s jaw clenches. “What about me?”

Right now, Axel is just trying to make Tessa fall in love with him. Axel looked at the clock on his wrist. It was only one o'clock in the afternoon, but he couldn't wait for four o'clock. He couldn't wait to get home to see Tessa. Axel was lucky that today it wasn't snowing as heavily as yesterday, but still, the temperature felt so cold. Axel walked back to leave the rooftop; he still had to finish his work quickly, so he could get home faster. Axel opened the reports that were on his desk. The work becomes double because, starting today, Axel will not look for a secretary for a while; he prefers to do the work himself.

[Vivienne] A week has passed, and Axel hasn’t stopped talking about the man who helped him at the zoo. It’s like he’s found a new obsession—and not the healthy kind. “Don’t look so miserable,” Alexander says as we sit at the restaurant, having lunch. “He’s just being a kid, that’s all.” “I know,” I groan, wiping a hand down my face. “But I don’t like him being so obsessed with some man he doesn’t even know. I’m scared he’s too trusting, and we both know that never ends well.”

Long enough for the anger in his chest to settle into something heavier. Then he stepped back, sat down on his bed, and stared at the wall, his jaw locked and his hands still fisted listening to uneven breathing and knowing, with sickening clarity, that whatever had hold of him was already wrapped too tight. Azxel was desperate to be with Sky. He had gone in too deep and to say, he was obsessed. Azxel was far more than obsessed. He had learnt to love the darkness radiating from Sky. It was something, Jaelen didn’t expect to do but….
