It obviously didn't sit well with him and both Jack and Ava noticed. " My babysitter? " Alex asked in a low, threatening growl and he looked like he was going to strangle Jack any moment. Ava tried to keep her laughter in as she looked at his fuming face. He looked like a child who was about to throw a tantrum. After that, they walked away, leaving me and the children alone. “Why did it have to be like that.” I sighed and made my way to the sofa. Well at least . . . Sir Jaxon doesn't have a dirty mind. Just a professional kind boss. Smiling at myself, I skipped my way to the cute children who looked tired from playing. “Ma . . . ma.” They reached out to me with such sleepy eyes. I gently pat their heads and laid down for them to use my arm as a pillow. Because the pillows here were too big for them to use.

", John said recovering and crouching down next to the boy, who didn't seem to understand what was going on. "No daddy, isn't she mommy?", Bryan asked confused, and I decided to jump in. "Hi Bryan, what's up, I'm Liz, I'm your new babysitter, I'm not mommy, but, I have a son who is almost your age, would you like to see a picture of him?", I asked crouching down next to him, and he nodded, so I took out my cell phone and showed him the screen shot.

She wanted to punt her out a window. “Sky,” he muttered, “Let’s just go home.” He stepped past her toward the door, stopping just inches from her shoulder. Close enough she felt the warmth radiating off him. Elisa gasped dramatically, like she’d just witnessed someone cancel Christmas. “Wait…hold on,” she squealed, rushing forward in her sparkly heels. “You’re leaving? Already?? Sky, that is literally so lame.” Sky’s head whipped around. “Excuse me?” Elisa folded her arms, hip popping out with Olympic-level smugness. “You just got here. And you’re gonna dip because your babysitter got a little messy?”

I was exasperated, disagreeing with her brilliant idea. Now here's the thing. It's not like my mother never appointed babysitters for me when she had business trips and contests to judge. But, all in vain, there were hundreds of complaints registered against me which led them to quit the job- which had a pretty fair pay- and now those files are probably rotting somewhere in the attic. These babysitters even took payment for their damages. I'm not a monster or anything but it's just their necessity stuff used to mesmerize me and as a curious explorer child, I was prompted to check them out.

It was the collection of children that seemed to follow them. Where did they all come from? Molly had a good hundred or so. The other Lowery men about the same amount combined. Mia’s twins were around a lot more with one of their uncles. And those were all just one family! Not to mention all the other brothers who were bringing their kids around more. And the old ladies hanging out during the day. What the hell happened to his club? Old ladies were asking the club girls to babysit. Teen daughters of his men were asking for weekend jobs. Club girls no longer looked like whores.

“Look, I even colored you a whole bunch of pictures.” With a flourish, he pulls a stack of papers out and hands them to me. “My little artist,” I grin, ruffling his hair. I can’t wait to put them up where I can see them. Every last one of them. “He really did,” the babysitter says softly. “He cried all last night.” Miles’ eyes widen. “Did not! I was a big boy!” I chuckle and tug him closer, kissing the top of his head. “Well, I’m here now, little wolf. Don’t you worry.”

There are cribs and changing stations lined against the walls with the middle of the floor covered in a brown fuzzy rug scattered with plushy pillows, blankets, books, and chew toys. I look at the other cubs around Graces age and my heart just melts. There’s one sleeping facedown with his little butt curled up to the air, another is on her belly crawling after some blocks. This would be great to have Grace hangout with some cubs her own age. “We’re only here for three weeks.” I say as though trying to convince myself this is pointless. “Then perhaps you would be interested in our babysitting program.” Archer offers and dammit, I am interested.

I do not like authority, but I truly need it and need to be put in place every now and then. I would not have much of a problem if dad had hired some thirty something, tall, hot as hell, handsome hunk, in fact I would have been thrilled to have an absolute hottie as my babysitter- but instead I have Greta and I find her absolutely atrocious. At least I will not have to see her sour face for a week, this is the only time I can say thank goodness for Bassa!
