Chapter 20: Intrusive questions Kathleen’s P.O.V I tucked her into the soft, cozy bed. I then dimmed the lights before sitting by her bed and reading her bedtime story from my phone. I wasn’t used to searching bedtime stories and didn’t really have an idea of what kids would like, so I chose the first story that came up on the internet, not really focusing on what it was about, but in the end, it did turn out to be an interesting story about friendship, as explained by two cute bunnies.

That's why the kid was laughing so hard. She was entertaining and funny. Every day, Victor could see why Benjamin liked her so much. "Good evening," he uttered, his deep voice scaring Sarah and making her almost curse in front of the kid. "Jesus Christ, you scared me, Mr. Reed," she said with her hand on her chest. Benjamin seemed delighted with the scene. "Hi, daddy. Sarah was telling me a story." "Yeah, I imagined. So, I think it's time to go to bed, right?" Victor started.

She only felt that as their elder sister, she should watch it with them and teach them. She went to the playroom next door and saw Tianna sitting over there seriously. The two babysitters were carrying Oreo and Candy while she said, "What we watched just now were numbers. It is the easiest. You are all still young. It doesn't matter if you still can't understand. I will teach you in the future!" Sigrid was speechless. "They are only two months old. How will they be able to learn those numbers?" Sigrid did not have the heart to tell the truth to Tianna. She only went in and asked the two babysitters to carry the children back to the master bedroom.

She's sitting beside me now, one arm wrapped around my shoulders. “Okay,” she says softly. “Start wherever you can.” My throat tightens again as I try to speak. “I… I was babysitting today.” Chloe blinks. “Babysitting?” “For Harriet,” I whisper. “The twins.” “Oh… the little ones?” she asks with a nod. I nod. “Eliana and Ethan.” My hands start shaking again. “I put them down for a nap. They fell asleep while I was reading to them. Everything was fine.” My voice cracks. “Everything was completely fine.”

Taking care of children is tiring. Yes, it is very tiring, especially since the child is always whining and missing other people. Jenny considered hiring a babysitter, so her ears wouldn't hurt anymore... Hearing Raine's screams all night long, or the child's naughty behavior. She thought, how can Logan endure ber? Ah... But he also hired a maid, right... Moreover, he's remarried, surely his new wife won't take care of Raine.

Alpha Jake said. "You said it, it's so sweet that's why I want to eat it." Kyle replied. "Fine I will talk to Nan, but you gonna get just a little piece." Alpha Jake said. "Maybe two?" Kyle replied making a puppy face. "No, one." Alpha Jake said with a straight face. "Alpha Jake, aunt babysitter, look I made a story." Adrian one of the kids said. "Wow, a Story? What happened in the story?" Leilah asked.

She wanted to punt her out a window. “Sky,” he muttered, “Let’s just go home.” He stepped past her toward the door, stopping just inches from her shoulder. Close enough she felt the warmth radiating off him. Elisa gasped dramatically, like she’d just witnessed someone cancel Christmas. “Wait…hold on,” she squealed, rushing forward in her sparkly heels. “You’re leaving? Already?? Sky, that is literally so lame.” Sky’s head whipped around. “Excuse me?” Elisa folded her arms, hip popping out with Olympic-level smugness. “You just got here. And you’re gonna dip because your babysitter got a little messy?”

I asked. “A little.” “What if I tell you a story?” I teased, kissing her cheek. Her fear seemed to soften. “Only if it’s a princess story.” I reached for the book on the nightstand. “Then a princess it is.” As she listened, slowly growing sleepy, my mind drifted far away—filled with the possibility that this could all go wrong. That maybe… we were all making a mistake. What would I do if Giulia didn’t accept the new nanny?

Casey pouted and Annabella chuckled "Are you trying to bribe me?" She sat down on the bed,their heads on her laps "Please another story,then we will sleep" Alex said "Fine,why not??" "Yeee!" Casey and Alex screamed "So the title of our new bedtime story is Jack and the beanstalk" Annabella said "Wow,I've never heard about that" Casey said "Me too" Alex said "Then listen as I narrate to you"Annabella said and they both smiled,then she started

"You can stay in your Aunt Graciana for awhile while we're out of town." Mom informed me. Today is Saturday. We're having our breakfast together, which is very new to me. Usually they don't join me with my breakfast. So it's really surprising. And now, they're telling me to stay in Aunt Graciana's house because they'll be off to other country. In Italy, specifically. Maybe they'll visit grandmother and I heard mom has a new exhibition of her new masterpieces.
