Amina Five and a half months pregnant and I can’t see my feet anymore. I still have more than three months to go and I feel as if I can not get any bigger. The Lycan King has been watching several packs carefully. Not just because of what happened with Juliette being kidnapped, but because of incidents that seem to be related to the kidnapping and other behaviors. It has kept the threats at bay as has the extra security he has provided our pack with. Of course knowing his nephew and his mates are all pregnant might have added to his increased help with keeping our pack secure.

Where was I? "Now that you're awake, leave." A magnetic man's voice reached my ears. I looked over warily, and then I saw the honorable man I most wanted to see - The Lycan King. " Your majesty the King!" I immediately remembered my mission. I sat up from the bed, clinging to the hem of The Lycan King's garment, afraid that he would leave. "I appreciate that you are willing to see me." The Lycan King pulled his clothes out of My hands and stepped back indifferently, "I just don't want to see someone die at my door. Bad luck."

But this is for the best.” He snapped the phone’s back open, removed the SIM card, and broke it in half. Before I could stop him, he placed the pieces in his mouth and swallowed them. “You’re insane,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. He leaned in close, his breath warm against my ear. “Watch your tongue, Otsana. I am the Lycan King. I rule over all the packs in this kingdom. You will show me respect.”

“I’m going to take you home, and then I am going to call in some food for us, I know hospital food is shit and you probably didn’t eat.” “No,” she said turning to the window. “Who is the Lycan King?” Soma asked. “His name is Gideon,” I said. “He wants to ensure you are safe, and he knows you are confused about a lot of things.” Now she is going to ask questions and probably hate me, or not believe one word I tell her. “What is a Lycan?” “A hybrid Werewolf,” I said glancing at her, I could tell she was nervous, she moved around a lot.

Her words are kind, but they cannot erase a lifetime of being told I am a mistake. I squeeze her hand, grateful for her compassion even if I cannot believe her reassurance. After Mary leaves, I force myself to eat a little. I will need my strength for what is coming. That night, I couldn't sleep. I lie in my bed and stare at the ceiling, wondering what tomorrow will bring. I have heard stories about the Lycan King. They say he murdered his own uncle to take the throne. They say he tears apart enemies with his bare hands. They say

Oh no. My worst fears became a reality when my father led me directly to where the Lycan King stood with a group of his advisors. My blood turned cold with every step we took closer to them. The king was a tall, muscular man with piercing eyes and a cruel smile that sent shivers down my spine. Lycans were ruthless and cruel, and Alpha Xander was no different. He had no love or compassion for anyone, and he ruled with an iron fist. People didn’t like talking about him, as they made bringing him up be almost like blasphemy.

His eyes are back to their usual light brown, and he seems less menacing. The Lycan King, standing right before me, and asking me about my bruises. It can't be real. "You will let me mark you, little one," he says, and brushes my hair away from my shoulder, exposing it. A pleasant shiver runs through my body. No . . . I can't possibly be enjoying this. He starts to lean towards me, and his eyes burn a vivid gold again. His mouth opens slightly, showing powerful looking canines. A true Lycan.

My voice drips with sarcasm, and Amber giggles. “You’re so grumpy tonight.” I deadpan and flare my nostrils. “Well, get used to it. I fucking hate parties.” Amber gives me a shy smile, and I take her hand in mine to lead her to the registration desk. As we walk, I can feel the gazes of the other lycans following us. They must be shocked that the Lycan King is at a freaking kid’s party and about to team up with his future wife to join a stupid children’s game. But I don’t care. I’m doing this for Amber, hoping it will make me see that bright smile on her face again.

He orders in his deep voice. I turn, looking at my father and my heart sinks when I see the look on his face. The smile I’m used to is not what greets me but a face devoid of emotions. A figure comes out from behind him. It's his concubine, Jacqueline. She has a smug look on her face as she rubs her none existent baby bump. “My king, the Lycan has returned the Princess after using her. She’s damaged goods now.” She remarks, staring at me with disdain.

Sanny scratched the back of her head as if finding a reason but she bore a half smile on her face while shaking her head in belief. It seemed I would have to ask the King that question personally. I am a bit intrigued. I carefully plucked one of the roses that seemed to have fully bloomed, for some reason, it was calling me, an eternal darkness I could never escape from. Now that I am in the grasp of King Dain, the ruler of all werewolves, a cold and bloodthirsty lycan, how am I to survive? What should I do from here on out? As I admired the intricately beautiful flower, I fought for an answer that was in hands rich.
