Rejected Mate: The Lycan King's Claim Novels & Stories

Moving to my other side. The vampire laughed. Dark. Amused. "How charming. The Lycan King and the rejected Alpha playing protector." His red eyes locked on mine. "But she doesn't need protection from me. She needs me to complete her." "Complete me?" I found my voice. "I don't even know you." "Not yet." He moved closer. Fast. Too fast. One second he was ten feet away. The next he was right in front of me. "But you will, little goddess."

That snapped me out of my haze. “Who are you?” I finally found the words to ask this stranger who seemed to know so much about me. “Lycan King Alec Gray.” My jaw nearly fell and hit the desk. “You, of course, are welcome to stay in Dark Moon and help me find your family. I’ll even be willing to let you accept Neal’s rejection before I kill him and spare you from feeling it.”

"It's happened before. Multiple times. The Burning wasn't that long ago. Some of us still remember." Several council members nod. "The King's father implemented these laws for a reason," another councilor adds, a man with a scarred face and hard eyes. "To protect our people. To prevent another catastrophe." "And those laws have served us well," Aldric agrees. "Which is why we cannot make exceptions. Not even for the King's fascination." "It's not fascination," Mira says sharply. "She's his fated mate. The connection..." "Is irrelevant," Aldric cuts her off. "Plenty of Lycans have lived without their fated mates. The King himself did so for twenty years. He can do so again."

"You deserve a true mate. One of noble blood. Not this...thing." His grip tightened on her waist. “I, Alpha King Kael Draven of the Moonstone Pack, reject you, Lyra Blackthorn, as my mate," Kael declared, his voice booming through the hall so that all could hear it. "This disgrace is not my mate. She is nothing." My chest caved inward. It felt like a physical tearing, as if invisible claws ripped down my soul. The rejection slammed into me, sucking the air from my lungs. My knees buckled, pain searing through my heart, my veins, my very bones.

"You rejected her, and you know the tradition, you know that once a mate is rejected and turned rogue, she no longer belongs to you, it's like cutting any cord that holds you both together, and even if you want to get her back, don't think..." "You don't think, father! No, tell me, because the last I remember, you rejected mother once, and you both came back together later, so why is my case different, huh?" Conri couldn't control the anger and rage burning inside him. "You see, I don't think you really know who her husband is, I asked one of the Gamma's to make their findings, Conri, there is no way we can temper with the Moonlight pack, Cullian is not just a Lycan, he is the king, he leads

the Lycan king said as he headed to where my mum was. He dragged her by her hair to where my father was. "Mummy!!" My sister and I shouted at the same time. I rushed to save my mother but was halted by the Lycan king. "Don't you take another step or else.." he said. "Olivia, don't come please. Stay back.." my mother cried. "I want you to feel the pains that I felt when you raped my mate to death.." he said as he tore my mom's dress open in front of the whole pack.

Wow, how dare this pack Alpha try and make a fool out of me. I flex my fingers, creaking at the joints. I would show them the price of daring to challenge my authority. As for my mate, I take one look at the overly bright smiling face on the info sheet, and I can't help but roll my eyes. Oh, look at the thick, dull, black-rimmed glasses on the bridge of her nose; look at the weak, harmless-looking baby face, lacking any power. Her silliness even spills out the photograph. Who am I? I am the Lycan King of the Aries Kingdom; I am the most powerful Lycan. But my mate is a weak and useless she-wolf. I groan, is this another joke the moon goddess has played on me, in addition to my curse?

“Luna Isadora. You will refer to my mate with her title, and you will talk to her with respect.” My voice had gone quiet, and with the smile on my face, I knew what they were all seeing. A Lycan King. Felicity stepped forward. “And what exactly were you thinking, sending your guards to come after me like that? I am a lady! Not a ruffian like that one beside you. I do not deserve to be manhandled like that!” My gaze cut through to Erina, and my cousin moved immediately. Her hand connected with Felicity's cheek, and Felicity stumbled from the force of it.

"You are alive." "No thanks to you," Kael said before I could answer, stepping forward with his own guards flanking him, though he was careful to keep himself half a step in front of me. "You lost any right to speak her name the moment you cast her out to die." Draven's eyes flicked between us, taking in the way Kael positioned himself, the way his hand rested near the small of my back, and something dark and possessive crossed his face. "She is my mate," he said, loud enough for both courts gathered behind us to hear. "The goddess herself marked the bond. I invoke mate, right? She belongs to my side, not sheltered inside a rival kingdom's walls."

The wolves turned to each other in disbelief. I could see the effort Jax was making trying to control his temper, his voice was close to the edge. "Sorry my Lord. Did you say you want to claim her as your mate." Lycan King Magnus's gaze turned piercing, his voice steady but filled with a warning. "You heard right so I won't repeat myself. You forget, Jax, that I have the power to claim Sophie as my mate seeing as you just rejected her. Or are you prepared to face the consequences of standing in my way?."
