HIS RELUCTANT MATE
As a child who grew up in an orphanage home, birthdays were luxurious, and many times, I wouldn't even remember it was my birthday until Stephen or his parents reminded me.
But birthdays? What was the fun of birthdays?
Wasn't it the day the people who gave birth to me regretted the most?
Maybe they would curse that day whenever they thought of it.
They didn't want me. .
So, what was the happiness of celebrating a day, that was the worst day of someone else's?
I closed my eyes and sighed wearily.
I really shouldn't keep thinking about a past that would never change...
In a month, I would be 21, a full-grown adult. Someone who was already old enough to create a family of his own.
