Smart enough to be plotting, not charging.
When Burk is about five feet from the behemoth, he stops and freezes. Even his chest goes still. The Mangog immediately gets antsy and turns, but Burk doesn't move. He remains completely motionless. The Mangog stomps his feet and roars loudly as if Burk's lack of action is infuriating him. He wants a fight, and Burk isn't giving him one. Suddenly the beast swings his arm close to Burk's head, but Burk doesn't react. Fear and worry twist my stomach into a tight ball. The Mangog roars again, and my body reacts on its own.
