Siora said with mock exasperation.
“Oh please,” the fairy shot back, planting her hands on her hips. “When I was a fairy, I didn’t need to cook! We just fluttered around, nibbling fruit and eating whatever the woodland creatures or unlucky travelers left out.”
Zevarion and I burst out laughing.
“Well to be honest, you make the best pancakes,” I said with a smile.
“See? Thank you,” she returned to her chores.
They finished the soup quickly, the soft aroma wrapping the room . I ate like I hadn't tasted food in days, each spoonful a quiet salvation.
