The Vampire King

The Vampire King

The mare standing against the wall raised her head and cut through the silence with a sharp, wary cry. Yellow burning eyes flashed in the darkness... William cried out briefly, turning his head away and closing his eyes. Tristan wanted to turn around, but was stopped by his friend’s warning whisper: - There's a basilisk. Tristan froze in shock. Basilisk?! A strange, terrible creature that kills with its poisonous breath and turns into stone with one single glance. The young lord didn't think they really existed. Tantario slowly turned his head, trying to see the intruder out of the corner of his eye. In the darkness of the night, the skin of the strange beast seemed golden-green, the sharp c

Dark Elf Maria

Dark Elf Maria

Apparently, when she was trying to follow me she put her hand against a tree without noticing the basilisk resting there. “I don’t know how to and I don’t think we have enough time to gather the ingredients.” The basilisk is a fearsome creature native to this forest. At rare occasions, they wander inside the village looking for food, so the Mothers made sure to teach us about them. They do not attack elves unless they feel threatened, but once they do, a single bite is enough to poison an adult to dead. Their most distinctive trait is the putrid smell of their venom. “I… can’t… feel my… legs…”

Transylvania Academy: What It Takes To Be a Monster

Transylvania Academy: What It Takes To Be a Monster

Just thinking about him having that advantage boils my blood. It was whispered among the students of Transylvania Academy that the Hydria was located at the cave inside the Forest of Lamentation. The second one with the strongest familiar was Levi, son of Leviathan the Envious, who got the Basilisk also known as a creature with a bird-like upper body and a giant snake for its lower body. It was born from a serpent that had been incubated by a rooster. It got a dangerous ability wherein one glance from its crystal eyes would kill any human and could poison any creature. Angels and demons were not immune to its lethal gaze that it could weaken their magical power – this would be enough to find

Hale Academy: University of Sui Generis

John asked as he stood up from where he’d been writing something on the floor, with chalk. “Rare, but then again rarer still are the demons and gods”, she muttered, “The common supreme beings happen to be chimeras, Kitsune, Hydras, Medusa, Kraken, a lot of nymphs and sirens, a lot of Greek mythologies if I had to be pedantic. Oh! Your homeroom teacher Mr. Edwards is a Leviathan, and his wife is a siren I think, we’ve had the first werewolf too; The Beast of Gévaudan and Fenrirs too, a Minotaur and Basilisks. I personally have known three different Basilisks”, she listed as she tried to recall the different Ascendants she’d met. “I thought if one existed, another Ascendant of the same kind co

Hunters: The Prequel

Hunters: The Prequel

The Lightning Phoenix kept charging forward, its figure nothing but a blur. Its hasty advance was partly fueled by the fact that it had been delayed by the Lightning Snake. It had wasted some time killing off the beast and consuming its corpse. The other half of the reason was that it had just come face to face with the most frightening existence that a Sacred Bird could have come across. It had come face to face with the one known as The Beast Slayer; The Devil Maker; Destroyer Of Kings; The Ghostly Paragon; and most famous of all; Basileus!

I hope that’s not the end end. So many left off pieces of the story all his friends on the other world, all the other gods story lines, he’s only used his blood born weapons and armour twice. Hasn’t even made it out of dreamscape yet. Still have everything in true verse going on while he “asleep”

The Alpha's Dragon

The Alpha's Dragon

The palace light dimmed as the shadows shaped themselves into blades and fangs to attack The Basilisk elders hissed, their golden eyes flaring, attempting to rupture his blood vessels where he stood but their power shattered like glass against his immunity. Glacy’s draught, brewed in secrecy and fed to him for weeks, had hardened his blood against their gaze. Their magic recoiled, backfiring, venom curdling in their throats, turning them inside out from within.

My Sweet Alpha

My Sweet Alpha

Pliny (Natural History, Book Eight, paragraph 33) tells us nothing of the posthumous aptitudes of this ophidian, but the conjunction of the two ideas of seeing (mirar) and dying (morir) vedi Napoli e poi mori [see Naples and die]—must have influenced Shakespeare. The gaze of the basilisk was poisonous; the Divinity, however, can kill with pure splendor or pure radiation of manna. The direct sight of God is intolerable. Moses covers his face on Mount Horeb, “for he was afraid to

Clandestine Empire: Return of the Lost

Clandestine Empire: Return of the Lost

He looked around and he held his breath when he heard the sound of the basilisk slithering towards their location. Despite his bleeding shoulder, Dio pulled the daggers from his back. “Stay here and don’t move.” The lady nodded as she watched Dio ran towards the basilisk and moved to a fighting stance. He parried with the basilisk though he was overwhelmed by its strength. After he pushed the basilisk, he moved to a defensive stance. He dodged the basilisk’s attack but the shriek coming from behind made the basilisk stop. Its attention was redirected to the lady as it became its new target

Called by the Dragon

Called by the Dragon

“Yes. We don’t understand why it’s having an even more pronounced effect than normal, but we know it’s a form of basilisk poison. It’s already absorbed entirely into the chieftain’s body, and it’s so potent that if we stop for even a moment, we think it might kill him outright. We can’t stop, madam. We need to focus.” Basilisk poison. Not home-concocted elixirs or viper poison or even wyrm poison. Basilisk poison. Those weren’t even native to this side of the continent, and there were any number of deadlier poisons easier to acquire. It was pure symbolism, the motive. What greater enemy of the fabled dragons than the basilisks? And what greater irony than to kill a chieftain who promised a r

The plot is thrilling from the start and I had to pace myself to avoid reading through the night. I often wanted to dive into the characters' minds myself to punch some sense into them, proof of how perfectly Mana designed them. This book deserves a thousand stars, not the mere five GN allows.

That was one epic adventure. The world was rich, detailed, full of amazing characters, and the story drew me in its tight grip and never let me go. I am a true fan of this author, it's characters, and it's story line. This was a true experience.

My Demon Life: Lucifer's Quest

The bright moon showed us his face and we could see his pale white skin with red eyes and sharp teeth with his snake tongue sticking out from time to time. Basilisk: What isssss going on here? Hisss… To everyone’s surprise, Spier came up to Basilisk and looked straight into his eyes. Spier: Hah….hahaha. I heard you were called Basilisk. Hahaha. What a funny name. Lord Anex: It spoke! I heard Ban’s Familiar can speak but was very bad at it, but this one straight out went and spoke with no problem at all.
