Jax held her close, his whispers of devotion a soothing balm against the horrors they faced. They lay together in the aftermath, bodies still humming with the intensity of their connection. Jax’s arms encircled her like a fortress, his touch gentle now as he traced patterns on her skin. The threat had escalated, but their bond had only grown stronger, a beacon in the darkness that refused to be extinguished. The basement felt like a temporary fortress, but they both knew the real battle lay ahead.

Just then, Poppy’s smartwatch, which she had been fiddling with, finally connected to Castiel’s phone. “Daddy, hurry home! Zombies are in the base!” Hearing his daughter’s words, Castiel grew impatient. “Stop spouting nonsense! How could zombies suddenly get into the base? Daddy is busy. Can you please stop bothering me?” June urgently shouted into the phone, “Castiel, we’re not spouting nonsense! Zombies are already inside the base! Hurry back with reinforcements and save us!”

“Drop it, Bash!” Quin yelled. Bash seethed while holding an ancient vase, about to smash it to pieces. Quin had seen such behavior before, not in Bash, but in other vampires not yet sealed to their mate. Sebastian was out of control, and Quin had to make him see reason. Quin felt it was a pity that Bash wasn’t his real progeny because if he were, Quin could simply command Bash to stop. Sebastian wouldn’t be able to resist Quin’s order, because it would cause great physical pain.

Brandon swallowed a curse as he watched Walter open up another wound across Ezekiels chest and Brandon couldn't stop himself from inhaling deeply to catch the scent or the flare of energy that hit the air as Ezekiels inner beast rose and started healing the damage that was being done. "God...there's blood everywhere..." Brandon grumbled out loud then sniffed and shook his head to dispel the energy fuzzing his thoughts. "So um....Have any of you ever gotten close to actually beating Walter before?" he asked Ezekiels brothers trying to move his thoughts away from the uncharacteristic agitation he felt growing inside.

Blood splattered everywhere. BaiXue stopped dead in her tracks out of shock and surprise, at the sudden interference from a third unknown party. The moment she stopped skidding, she looked back. The person who appeared out of nowhere squashed the basilisk's long body with every step he took towards her. Each step earned him an agonising cry. Life gradually seeped out of the basilisk.

I just want to give a heads-up that the next Chapter (CHAPTER 72) will take us back to the Dark Crow Pack with Zoey and Andrew. If you are NOT interested in them, you can skip this chapter and wait for Chapter 73 tomorrow, as it will go back to the Black Shadow Pack (BSP) territory.
