I once again admired the work of the renovators even though I sure as hell paid a pretty penny for it. The center of the master bath was a huge modern art deco take on a clawed bath tub. My fingers grasped the remote as I set it to fill, clamoring in. I sat in the water allowing its philic nature towards me to lap at my skin and let it work out the tension of my limbs. The bath had proved to be extremely beneficial. It had melted years of stress right off my back. Perhaps with the sense of security from my locks, it had been too relaxing, carelessly I realized that I had left my only communication line, my cell phone, downstairs.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Anyone important to Nathaniel is welcome here." "You have more influence than you pretend…" I murmured to Nate as Dr. Harrison led us toward a side entrance. "Dr. Harrison is one of the head curators," Nate explained like it was nothing. "A personal friend. When I told him I wanted to show you the Baths, he offered to make an exception." We stepped into what was normally one of the most crowded places in Bath—but right now it was completely empty, completely silent. Without the swarm of tourists, the chatter in ten different languages, or the constant clicking of cameras, the Roman Baths felt almost sacred.

THE BATHROOM was filled with the sound of the shower running as Celene stood under the warm water. She couldn’t believe she was taking a bath in the house of the man who had rejected her, the same man she was supposed to marry before meeting Jarred. She closed her eyes and ran her fingers through her long brown hair, letting out a disbelief chuckle before turning off the water.

‘Well, they ARE monster after all,’ she said to herself as she went further in the bath house. As soon as she was in she finally saw the enormous size of the bath house. It could easily fit all the villagers and then some. There were different types of baths all filled with steaming water. There were statues of creatures on each corner and there were pillars across the room. Water flowed from the wall mounted statues towards each bath. She has never taken a bath in a place as luxurious as this one. Even the bath houses in the capital is nothing compared to this. “Come, human. Take the one in the middle,” the red-haired lamia said. They waited for her to move and followed her.

I smiled and prepared my bath. I entertained myself while inside the bath tub by watching my friends’ I*******m stories. I got excited when I saw Hamish’s story, it was about our party last night. A farewell party for our Seniors and for our first day as Senior High School tomorrow. I stared at the video and saw myself making out with a girl. Who was she, again? Viviane? Violet? Victoria? I forgot. I put my phone on the small table beside the tub. I inhaled, smelling the fragrance of the candles my mother bought for me. I submerged myself into the water and I just relaxed. I felt at ease. After my bath, I did my skin care.

He told them and they all nodded, coming for me. I wanted to protest and ask him what sort of ceremony is going to take place tomorrow but I kept quiet when I saw these women's sharp glares. They gestured their hands to a doorway and I followed suit until I reached the magnificent bathhouse. Its fragrance was so sweet that I was urged to lick the beautiful water that looked like a pool. I saw them mix liquid baths and ointments in the hot water while the other stripped my clothes. My tongue was tied and I felt so awkward with the way they were staring at me.

I clutched the items to my chest and made my way to the servants bathhouse. ---- The servant's bathhouse was just behind the kitchen quarters. It wasn’t fancy, but it was big enough to fit more than ten women at a time. Steam floated in the air, rising from the large square tub built into the ground. The room smelled like soap and wet stone.

Vincenzo led her to the master suite, where they shared a long, soothing bath, the water washing away the intensity of their earlier conversation. Afterward, they dressed slowly, preparing for Vincenzo to fulfill his promise: to show Vittoria every corner of the city that held a piece of his story. “Tell me our first stop is the Roman Baths,” Vittoria said, her excitement evident as she bent to tie her sneaker laces. “I’m at your service to take you wherever you wish, my lady. The Roman Baths are just the beginning—today, Bath exists for you.”

Mira told him. "Why don't you take a bath here? We can talk," Bastian said quickly. Mira laughed amusedly at her son's words. If it was just the two of them, Mira wouldn't mind but Aldo was accompanying Bastian and she didn't want to wear skimpy clothes around her son's best friend. "Because this bathhouse is exclusively for men, my dear!" Mira said, giving her reasoning. "We promise not to tease Mama," Bastian joked with an ignorant expression.

But the way she called out to me… I was curious to know what she wanted to discuss with me in the bathroom, of all places. I made my way towards it, mustering up courage when I realized the door was unlocked and anyone could have stepped inside. Swallowing, I pushed open the door. The exotic scent of bath oils wafted around the room, my eyes pinning on the woman taking a bath, submerged in the water, wearing nothing but a gorgeous smile. “Good morning, Princess,” I said, removing my suit when it got too warm with the steam. I eyed the edge of the bath, made from an obsidian solid stone, carved into the shape of a bath, smoothed from the inside.
