“You think that creature can save your wolf? She couldn’t even save herself.” “Maybe not. She studies the creature and growls. “I should have killed you properly the first time, sister.” A strange scream comes from the rabbit, half human, half creature. Her back legs kick uncomfortably as she tries to break free from Nyxara’s grasp. Suddenly, the light in Bubbles’s fur brightens until the entire chamber glows. Nyxara snarls, dropping the rabbit to the ground, and she turns away as the reflected brilliance burns across her skin.

Little Sapphire pushed the thick bushes out of the way and crawled under. A few thorns pricked her and the stony ground hurt her knees, but she didn't give up. She looked around but she couldn't find her pet bunny. Her mother got her a little pinkish-white bunny with a magenta heart gem on her forehead and pretty pink eyes. She wasn't an ordinary bunny, of course. Her mother told her she'd get to know what kind of bunny she is when the gem on her forehead takes its final colour. Sapphire had been taking care of the bunny for six months. Just three more months before she transforms.

The tabby’s eyes glinted with dry amusement. “You mean the hunt for the dragon prince’s—” began a scruffy grey cockatoo perched above, but the cat shot it a glare. “Yeah, yeah, you get the point. No need spellin’ it out, feather-brains. Use yer head, will ya?” A hoarse, wheezy laugh erupted from a balding rabbit still stuck in its cage. Its mangy brown fur stood in strange patches, as though bitten off by disease, or worse.

Then Rex unchained Hector’s hands. “Kill it or the sun comes back,” orders Rex . Hector pulls himself up to a sitting position. Every ounce of movement brings him to tears, and he wants to scream. Bloody tears fall down his cheek and roll onto his bare chest. Hector opens the cage and takes the rabbit into his hands. He looks at the rabbit. “Sorry little guy,” says Hector says. He breaks the rabbit’s neck and then places the rabbit down on the ground. “See, that wasn’t so hard.”

I lean down on Bunners, hoping it just looks like I’m holding myself up, but Xavier’s eyes follow my hand, spotting the rabbit. “Yes, baby,” he groans helplessly. “Pick up your stuffy and hold it while you squeeze your tits for me.” I blush furiously, understanding what he’s asking, but I’m excited, too.
