They were both grasping for explanations to comfort themselves. What Adrian didn't know was that the damaged ship he had dismantled had been sprinkled with beast-attracting powder. This was why so many beasts were attacking tonight. Inside the cave, the remnants of the ship further enhanced its allure to the sea beasts, causing both families to suffer this undeserved disaster. Five level-one spirit beasts charged ferociously at the Starks and Riggs in the houses. The scent of blood excited the sea beasts further. These five beasts were formidable opponents: two resembling jellyfish, two resembling sea turtles, and one looked like a menacing crab.

She nodded with her head bent and left the office with a tear stained face. I needed to let him out. It had been a long time since I fed. I could smell the presence of a vampire miles away. He was at the pack's border. He must have gotten here by accident but that doesn't mean I was going to let him live. My beast needed to feed and he was going to be the food. Rules were rules. He should have known that this land was forbidden to him and his kind. I breathed in and let my beast take over. Filled with rage and hunger, he moved with great speed and pounced on the unaware vampire. There was something about him, I could sense it around him.

Then I tossed the phone onto the bed and stared at Sarah Blake’s name one more time. And that’s when it hit me — The white-hot punch of realization, disbelief, and something vile curling in my gut. “What. The. Actual. Fuck. Men!!” The words tore out of me, raw and violent. Because I knew even then… I wasn’t getting out of this clean. Not anymore. --- Sarah’s POV I was still breathless when Henry’s voice rang in my ears from earlier— “What the hell are you doing here?” God. What a mess.

I texted, "Well. I… vented the way you think." We fell silent. Venting beastkin were part of an illegal industry, usually involving kidnapping young beastkin or buying low-grade beastkin at low prices. They were then put through a brutal selection process to single out the beastkin with strong bodies and rapid healing abilities to be selected as venting beastkin. Those who passed end up as human punching bags. Venting beastkin were used for torture, beatings, and stress relief. Some were forced into underground arenas for gladiator-style duels. These beastkin, though pitiful, were widely regarded as wild and untamable.

The ground beneath the lead beast had begun to tremble in a manner distinct from the trembling produced by its footfalls, a vibration that came from below rather than from the impact of weight on surface, and the beast itself slowed with the confused uncertainty of something that has been moving with complete confidence and has encountered for the first time a situation in which its confidence is not immediately justified. Soldiers shouted at it to press forward and it tried, but the earth beneath its feet was no longer cooperating with forward in the way that earth cooperates with forward when it is simply ground, and the beast stumbled in the way of something very large that has misjudged

The beast took another eerily silent step towards him— causing his body to betray him further as he began to try harder to curl into himself and away from the beast. "Hrmmmm...WHY DIDN'T YOU DINE ON YOUR KILL?....grrrrRRR!" The beast yelled at him in a questioning manner. He thought the question over before answering, trying to be careful in what he said. "I'm not an animal-- not a wild one at least....it felt...erhm...wrong. Taboo." He said shakily as he put his head up to face at least the beasts legs. "Hmm...I think yoU're JuSt scarrrEd to embRrrace what you arrrrrre...grrrr.."

And now I felt nauseous. Dad gazed into her eyes, both trapped in the fond nostalgic memories they shared. “The only time I’ve ever let anyone off with owt,” Dad added, his eyes sparkling with adoration. My eyes flicked between Alex, Grayson, Lucas, and Mason, and a whimsical smile stretched my lips. Our story wasn’t like anything written in a romantic novel. Nothing quite as epic. More like a graphic porno that could be found in the fetish section of Lynn’s sex shop, titled ‘Ravished by the Beasts’ or something along those lines.

A big part of me feels like he doesn’t want to be here. “One time, he managed to crush the heads of 8 rogues while he was pushing through the crowd. I’ve seen it myself, and it was just pure rage,” Zeke excitedly explained with a large grin on his face as if he was talking about something entertaining. I blinked at him and looked at Amir, but he just shook his head at me. “They attack with fire, Brute hates fire.” Brute said, his voice was deep and monotone. I was surprised that he even spoke.

His small stature and absence of the usual muscular build typical of his kind set him apart. With his limbs restrained by chains, escorted by guards, Aloov was brought before us. I observed him closely, analyzing his condition and assessing his status. [Aloov- Level 78] [....] [Title- Shameless Toad] [Skill - Persuasion, Language Proficiency…] The Beastman's status was far from impressive, yet notably distinctive for someone from the Beast race. The creature seemed visibly frightened, displaying signs of mental instability. Oddly captivated, I couldn't help but study the Beastman closely. In return, the Beastman locked eyes with me, revealing a deep-seated worry in his frightened gaze.
