I woke up from the sound of my stomach growling, without a word; I stood up from lying on my bed; my face was a little hurt from the incident earlier when I saw my reflection, a big purple bruise. I sighed and held my cheek, and started to heal myself. My mom and dad were fascinated with my gift for healing, but it wasn't extravagant; like the doctors from our tribe, I could heal simple wounds or, like mine—Bruises.

"Come on, Joey. Zayla's just curious about the animals. She's pregnant, so be more patient with her. Besides, most of the animals are gentle. It's not like she'll go near the dangerous ones." Even though I had refused, he secretly took the keys and gave them to her. What he didn't know was that this betrayal had cost me everything. My vision darkened and sharpened all at once as my body reshaped into the weight and power of the beast I carried. When it was done, I stretched once before the hearth and circled into place on the rug, curling with a low, satisfied sound.

I had slipped my shirt over my head and shimmied out of the pants and underwear, liking the way his gaze roamed my body. Jon’s tan and chiseled body was something to behold, that reminding me of the Greek titan Atlas the way his muscles glistened. His waive silver hair was unnatural almost, a stark contrast from his youthful features and physique. His green eyes crinkled at the sides with a smile, making him look more friendly than the deadly assassin he was underneath. He pulled his shirt over his head to join me naked, scooping me up with one swoop and almost slamming me onto the small twin bed in this room.

Before Dominic could step forward, a massive, black-iron battle axe swung through the fog, smashing into the stone pillar right above Regnar's head with a shower of deadly sparks. Out from the mist strode the leader of the heavy division a monstrous, scarred bear Beastkin named Vane. He stood over seven feet tall, his massive torso covered in thick leather armor and heavy iron plates. His dark, wild eyes locked onto Dominic, a malicious, guttural laugh escaping his throat.

We drove closer. It was a small mining town. Or it had been. Now it was a ruin. The buildings were smashed. Cars were overturned. And in the center of the town standing in the middle of the road was a figure. It was huge. It was at least eight feet tall. It was covered in metal armor. It held a massive hammer. It turned as we approached. It had no face. Just a smooth steel visor. "What is that?" I whispered. "A Titan," Kaelen said. "Project Titan. The heavy infantry."

The faint vibration humming beneath my skin. The kings' aura. Corbin led me through one of the massive archways and up a series of stone steps. The higher we climbed, the stronger the sensation became. And when I finally reached the top and looked down into the arena, my breath caught. Fenric, Rhydan, and Brammon were in the center of the coliseum. Fighting each other. All three had partially shifted into their beast forms. Fenric moved with terrifying speed, dark claws flashing whenever he struck. Rhydan's tail lashed through the air like a whip, each blow carrying enough force to crack stone. And Brammon stood like a mountain amidst the chaos, every footstep making the ground tremble.
