A cacophony of jarring sounds penetrated the darkness. Distant voices intermingled with the thrumming of my own ragged pulse. My brow furrowed as consciousness slowly trickled back. Where...? The viscous ooze of half-remembered nightmares clung to the edges of my mind like cobwebs. Shadowy impressions began to materialize - the relentless pursuit, the demented shrieks, those ruinous, haunting eyes... My own eyes flew open as the final dregs of sleep dissolved. I gulped down grateful lungfuls of air, grounding myself in the simple act of breathing. In. Out. In. Out.

Her eyes closed. Tabitha jerked up in bed. She could feel her body was soaked with sweat. What kind of dream was that? She looked over at Mark who was still asleep. She slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. She turned the water on and splashed it on her face. Her mind was still racing. She kept having these dreams but she didn’t know what they meant. Who was the guy in the dreams that she couldn’t see? She never could make out his face. And why was Mark always hurting her in the dreams?

Only a speck of life was left in her body. She stared at herself in horror and in her eyes she could see her reflection. Her eyes were gray and her hair was brown. She was the Badblood girl. "H...help" she choked in pain. Tears fell down on her eyes. Rila just stared at herself in horror. She felt like her stomach was turned upside down. She looked in the distance and saw a tall man with unspeakable ugliness. His face was out of this world. He was holding an ax covered with thick crimson blood.

I could see the transparent tears of my sister leaking out of her eyes. "Annabella!!" she screamed and ran towards me to hold me. Another wave of unbearable pain seared through my skull and I let out another ear-splitting scream. Oh, please, make it stop! And then it stopped. The pain just vanished. I glanced up to see another dark figure attacking the first one. Only this time, the shadow looked human.

Clearly, I am in a nightmare, and it is all because of that stinking movie. Shaking my head, I take a deep breath and decide that I am going to walk out of the bathroom and wake myself up before this dream has a bad ending and I end up dead. However, once I open the door, a sudden gust of wind hits me, and I fly backwards as the tornado rips through the apartment building, and everything is decimated in its path. A few days later, I wake up and feel so much better till I look around and realize that I am lying in the bathtub of the apartment and my foot has been severed.

Biya just drifted into a deep slumber a while earlier when she woke up abruptly after seeing a horrible nightmare. As she put her hand on her heart, it was beating fast. Her face was all sweaty. She runs her eyes in the surroundings and finds herself in her room. She just had a bad dream. She saw that she was running barefoot in the scorching hot desert. There was not an indication of a single person till very far. A deep silence and an abandoned place, this is what she sees everywhere. And she feels she will lose her sanity in this eerie silence.
