Tayo, Anastasia's brother, wasn't left out of the hustle either. Yomi and Tayo collectively helped in setting up the one-bedroom apartment to the ladies' satisfaction. Together, everyone cleaned and furnished the crib on Sunday. At the end of that day, all that was left was to attach an overhead fan to the ceiling and paint the walls of the room to another preferable colour.

Ace chimed in, his eyes shining with pride. I couldn't help but smile at their infectious energy, feeling a warmth spread through my heart. Pushing aside my worries for a moment, I shifted my focus to them, eager to see their creations. "That's wonderful, sweeties! Let me see." I beckoned them closer, and they eagerly rushed over, holding their drawings into my hands. Luna's drawing shown a colorful garden scene, complete with flowers, butterflies, and a shining sun, while Ace's featured a tall tree laden with apples, surrounded by smiling stick-figure people.

I look at him curiously, and soon an idea crosses my mind. "You looked at my notebook, so I think it's fair that I see yours." "You can look," he hands it to me, "but my drawings aren't as good as yours." "Do you think my drawings are good?" I feel my cheeks blush. "Yes. You could be an artist when you grow up." I couldn't hide my smile upon receiving a compliment. And on that day, for the first time, I had a friend. A friend I would take with me for a lifetime... if he had come back again.

But the question was, which one was it? "Why don't you give me a few minutes, I'm with my buddy, let me say my goodbye then I will come over." My teeth dug into my lips, causing my lips to draw a pale white line. Buddy, huh? That's what I was, and what I would always be, yeah?

He rushes in and stops at the edge of Adrian’s bed. Adrian’s eyes widen in surprise. “Hey, champ.” Liam pulls out a folded paper from his bag. “I made you a drawing.” Adrian tries to sit up straighter. “Let’s see.” Liam hands it over carefully. It’s a crayon sketch of the three of us—me, Liam, and Adrian—holding hands under a bright yellow sun. There’s even a dog beside us, though we don’t have one. Adrian stares at it, clearly touched. “This is amazing.”

You didn’t turn her down… but do you feel comfortable going? A small smile crept onto my lips. Me: I’m going with you, so I trust you to get us out of there the moment things get awkward. Three typing dots appeared. Disappeared. Reappeared. Mine: What’s your safe word? I grinned, fingers flying over the keyboard. Me: Stomach ache? Headache? Sick? Horny? Pick for me. Dots again. Then nothing. Then again. Mine: Third option. I huffed. All that typing and that’s what he landed on?

She walked towards her desk, ” Good morning class, today I want you to draw or paint a self portrait. I let out an exasperated sigh, portraits are my least favourite thing to draw. My preferred medium of art is drawing so there’s no way that I am going to paint. I think I’ll do a charcoal drawing that way I can smudge away half the artwork to create my face. I take my drawing media out of my bag and take a piece of compressed charcoal and wrap the bottom half in a piece of tissue. I don’t want to get my entire hand full of charcoal… I’m not the biggest fan of getting my hands dirty. Using the piece of Ashrad paper that Miss Wellington gave out to the class I begin. I decide to start with one

Her expression softens as she takes a step closer, her hands clasped in front of her. “My, and what do we have here” She crouches down until she's practically eye level with a beaming Kira. “It's Pinky, from my favourite cartoon. Isn't it pretty?” Kira gushes, holding up the drawing proudly. Lydia studies the drawing, her smile widening. “Nu, razve eto ne chudesno? You have done a wonderful job, Kira” (Well, isn't this just marvellous) Kira grins, “Ava helped me.”

I had picked it out myself online—a pink one with a cat paw grip, because Lena loved cats. I walked over, keeping my voice as gentle as I could. “Hey, where did you get that phone?” The boy looked up at me and instinctively hid it behind his back. “Is it yours?” “N-no…” His voice was small, his eyes avoiding mine. “I’m not a bad person.” I crouched down so we were eye level. “The owner of that phone is a good friend of mine. She’s missing, and I’m trying to find her. Can you tell me where you found it?”
