No white remained. Panic ran through her veins. She staggered back and shook her head. "No… no, this isn't real." Her mother moved forward cautiously. "Bella?" The doorknob shook. Bella fled. She leaped out of the window, covering immense distances at impossible speeds. Her body hung suspended in mid-air between unnatural and unnervingly otherworldly as she disappeared into the night. ******* The first-morning sunlight peeked over the horizon when she came home. Her mother was in the kitchen baking chocolate cookies.

Bella's POV The air in the room grew heavy as Xander and I stood before the towering glass windows of his penthouse, our gazes fixed on the bustling cityscape below. It was a moment of rare tranquility, a brief respite from the relentless demands of our lives. Little did we know that this calm would soon be shattered by an unforeseen betrayal that would test the limits of our strength and resilience.

“Yeah.” But Reno didn’t notice one thing. In Bella’s right hand, her phone was active. The camera was facing them. No sound. No obvious movement. Just a few seconds of recording. Click. Now back to present. I watch Alexis as she looked through the window admiring the beautiful view of the campus streetscape, the beautiful lining of different types of flowers at either sides of the road. Her eyes glimmering with appreciation and curiosity of what she was seeing, her beautiful smile deepening. Did I tell you she has a very cute dimple at her right cheek? She was done eating her ice cream now. I smiled and took another bend Into the last street. "Alex dear," I called. She turned from the window, her cute baby smile still on.

Bella's POV It has been 5 days since Xavier walked out of that door. 5 days since I have been stuck in this room. Everyday it is the same routine. I woke up at the bay window as I did not want to sleep in that bed. I take a shower with the spare clothes that were placed in the closets. I spend my day at the bay window, just staring out at the forest. In the morning, afternoon and evening, there would be a guy coming in to give me food and refill the water. And at night I will end up falling asleep with tears flowing freely.
