ALEX I found Bella in the art studio three days after our conversation about BDSM. She'd been spending more time there, slowly reclaiming the part of herself Marcus had tried to destroy. Today she was working on a painting—abstract swirls of color that somehow managed to convey both chaos and hope. "It's beautiful," I said from the doorway. She startled, paintbrush splattering blue across the canvas. "I didn't hear you." "Sorry. Habit from the military—quiet footsteps." I crossed to stand beside her, studying the painting. "What does it represent?"

She nods dismissively and we both move our attention back to the painting. The longer I stare at it, the lonelier I feel, but I can’t look away. Their eyes have a magnetic quality to it; pulling me in and keeping me glued; the visual equivalent of a siren song. Luna looks content, leaning on the large black wolf, although her face is devoid of any expression. The wolf on the other hand looks like it might growl at me any moment; pride and fierceness evident in its posture. “Bella?” I’m startled out of my trance for the second time, and when I whirl around, I come almost face to face with Ben Truman.

She decided to turn and go back when a golden brown wolf suddenly jumped out in front of her, looking angry. Bella purred gently, trying to signal that she meant no harm. The big wolf circled her, sniffing and taking in her scent, she lowered her head, again, trying to show that she was harmless. When she noticed that the big wolf was getting too interested in her, she ran off. Unfortunately for her, he followed.

Bella's POV It has been 2 days since Xavier had been to his London. He will be arriving tomorrow or the day after. I cannot wait to see him again. To tell the truth, I have missed him a lot. His caring words, his smile and his incredibly beautiful eyes. I missed them all. Currently I was in mine and Xavier's room, painting with the canvas, painting and paint brush that I found in the old storage beside the garden. I was painting Xavier's midnight black wolf with a night background and a full on the top. It was so beautiful. I painted this with my imagination and it came out awesome.

And beside it, a woman in flowing robes, her hand extended toward the beast as if in offering or benediction.

She asked and we nodded. After she left, Caius heaved out loudly. "We should bathe and go see her." Owen nodded in agreement so we all agreed to meet up again in thirty minutes. As much as Luna Allison can comfort our wolf, Sophia's presence would be more beneficial for us. Our wolf recognizes Luna Allison but it is more loyal and submissive to Sophia. Alexios should be on his way already, he had said he is going to rush up and take a bath, so we would be joining the two.

The fresh bedsheet felt like I was lying on heaven’s couch, and the numerous pillows soothed my exhausted body. Looking up at the ceiling, I noticed a mural painting on it. I found it fascinating. The pointillism and brushwork told me it was impasto. A 19th-century painting of the moon goddess Selene features thin brush strokes and a depiction of light. Two wolves stayed on each side of Selene. And a full moon looking down on them. It seemed as though the moon goddess was joining the two wolves in holy matrimony. I wondered if the two wolves were Luna Bella and Alpha Atticus. They must have a beautiful love story - one I may never experience if it was.

I looked over at her one more time and carefully adjusted the blanket to cover her properly. I remained seated at the foot of the bed, staying perfectly still without shifting even a little. Earlier, she had drawn a wolf with striking gray eyes, and she was adamant that the wolf in her artwork represented a princess. According to her, this princess was on her way to rescue the werewolves from some age-old curse. I couldn’t shake off this strange sensation that washed over me whenever I gazed at the wolf’s gray eyes, and each time I examined the simple sketch, it felt as though I shared some inexplicable link with the image. Screams, snarls, and growls filled the air like a chorus of rage. The largest of the enemy wolves lunged at me. I ducked under him, spun, and drove both claws into his exposed belly. He reared back, howling, but I didn’t stop. As he was about to harm me, Bella shifted back to her human form, taking out the heavy anaesthesia, she stabbed the injection to this one. Taking advantage, I leapt up, bit down on his neck, and held on as he collapsed, both by the effect of the medicine and the fight given to him by the group of wolves.

Some were lucky enough to have color in it. My eyes landed on Beth and I smiled. Her long dark brown hair nearly met her waist and she had beautiful forest green eyes to match. Freckles were splattered across her skin. Her tanned skin just added to her beauty. She truly was a wolf to be desired, it was no wonder the boys couldn't even think for a second of one of them giving her up. "There you go girl, keep smiling. The pack needs it. They all really want to meet their Luna," she gripped my shoulders gently," I think Gerwulf is going to officially introduce you during the winter celebrations."
