“You need to calm down.”
She stuck her tongue out at me and darted away again.
I clenched my fists at my sides.
This was not how I imagined my evening going. Not when Ace had walked into my room earlier, dressed and focused, telling me he wanted me to spend time with her. Bond, he’d said. Like this was something organic, something that would just… happen.
I exhaled sharply and sank onto the couch, watching as Alice eventually tired herself out. It took hours. Literal hours. By the time she finally slowed, her movements sloppy, eyelids heavy, my entire body ached from restraint alone.
