the little girl responds. "You've heard that story almost every night, Sweetheart." Kimmy stays quiet. The little girl playfully rolls her eyes as if contemplating what other story she'd like to hear tonight. "Okay. In that case, I choose Rapunzel and Aurora," she says. Even though she has her own room, Kaivan still spends time with Kimmy every night. He reads stories to her or simply chats until the Snow Princess falls asleep. Like tonight, after reading two stories, the beautiful daughter finally dozes off. After finishing his duties, Kaivan dimly adjusts the lamp and kisses Kimmy's forehead before returning to the main bedroom. He approaches Anne, who is still busy removing her makeup.

That I also used that spoon just moments ago? My face heated up, and I avoided his gaze. “I'm going to the bathroom.” I quickly tell him and then I run out of the room, so as to not make a fool of myself again.. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ That night, before I left, Sophia and Franklin asked me to tell them a bedtime story. Even though I had experiences in putting Xavier and Clayton to sleep, I only knew of the story of the three little pigs and of course Cinderella but my boys weren't ever interested in that second one.

he said and I smiled. "Am just glad you're okay. I can't believe you put on an act for me. You're so sweet Brandon" I said and ruffled his hair. He chortled and fell on the bed. "Can you read me a bed time story and also sleep here with me?" He asked and I shrugged. "Alright fine...that's your reward for saving me from going out in the cold night" I said as I sat on the bed beside him. We covered our legs with a blanket before Brandon handed me a picture book. I opened it and began reading a story for him - Beauty and the Beast.

I turned to walk towards the door, giving her her privacy, knowing not to cross the limit that I should not, but I was surprised when she opened her mouth to speak. “No, stay. Don't go just yet.” she said suddenly, her gaze steady on mine. Then she turned to our daughter, her voice softening in that way that always managed to crack something inside me. “Anastasia… would you like Alpha Liam to read you a bedtime story tonight? For a change, I can lay by your side and we can listen to him as he reads.” Anastasia’s face lit up like it was the best idea in the world. And that was when my own world shook as I looked at her, not even understanding how I was going to be able to do what looked like

The night was cold, and I feared they would catch a cold, but they began to cry out loud on the road. People began to stare, so I had gotten them the ice cream. When they got home, I prepared for them a nice warm shower, and dressed them, making them ready for bed. “I'm craving a bedtime story, Mommy.” Nadia said, as I tucked them in. “I'll tell you one tomorrow. I'm exhausted, okay? What do you think about two bedtime stories tomorrow?” I asked, as a bribe. “Oh yeah! I want Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty.”

At this point, I could not stand being married to him anymore. Ava got up and cupped my hand in her tiny palms. “Mommy, I’ll take you to bed to get some sleep. The teachers at kindergarten always tell me that you should get some sleep if you're tired!" I felt much better when I noted how loving Ava was. With that, we went to bed. I covered us with a blanket and laid side by side. I read bedtime stories to her—something I would never run out of to tell her. At some point in the night, the rhythm of her breathing became faint and steady.

Now where we are alone we are speaking Danish. “Can you tell me a story?” Her eyes are half-closed, but there’s a spark of hope in them, a desire to drift off to a world filled with adventure. “Absolutely,” I say, pushing open her bedroom door and gently laying her back on the bed, tucking the covers snugly around her. I reach for the Teddy, tucking it in beside her. “What kind of story do you want? A fairy tale? An adventure? Or maybe a superhero story?”

“Here, Daddy.” I laid down next to them, and when I started to weave a story about the animals on the ceiling, Naomi linked our fingers together, while Becky laid her head on my arm. Just like that, all the stress from the day was gone, and I knew that no matter what, I was never going to miss another bedtime story.

I asked, sitting beside her. "Yes, Mommy," she said softly, her eyes sleepy but content. "Can you read me a story?" "Of course," I said, reaching for one of her favorite bedtime books. As I read, her eyelids grew heavier, and by the time I finished, she was barely awake. I tucked her in, making sure her stuffed animal was snug beside her. "Goodnight, Zendaya," I said, kissing her cheek. "Sleep tight." "Goodnight, Mommy," she murmured, already drifting off.

I did, however, spritz a tiny bit of my perfume, not because of him, but I needed to smell like something other than defeat. “Bed time, baby.” I said to Leo as I approached him. "Would you read me a story?” He asked, rubbing his eyes as I sat back on the bed. "Story time it is, baby." I agreed. I picked up a small book about a brave little tugboat. "Once there was a boat who had to navigate a very big, very dark ocean..." I read to him, my voice a soothing hum, until his breathing deepened and his grip on my hand loosened. I leaned down and kissed his forehead, my heart breaking a little more. "I love you, my little general. Sleep tight."
