A Kissing Spell

A Kissing Spell

I made a decision in my head, building new courage. First, I thought of different types of female leads that I remembered from the CEO's character romances. There was "the weak beauty" – nothing like me at all, "the naïve and dumb beauty" – still, not even close, and finally, "the average, hardworking girl" – more like my type.

The Alpha King's Rejected Mate

The Alpha King's Rejected Mate

LIORA If this were a movie, this would be the moment where the lead actress lay in a bathtub, a glass of wine balanced on the edge, rose candles glowing around her while she drifted through her thoughts. But this was not a movie. Even if it were, I would never be the lead. That role belonged to Vireya. Strong. Beautiful. The kind of woman every girl wanted to become and every man wanted to touch. No one wanted to be me. Not even me.

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

Matilda’s appearance was even more impeccable. She was really very beautiful and she looked very elegant and classy. She had the smart and intelligent look that could only be seen in previous generations of intellectuals. There was a very famous television celebrity in this age group and she was an actress named Catherine Zeta-Jones. She could easily be considered as one of the most charming and beautiful woman amongst all the other women in her age group. However, Matilda was even more beautiful compared to Catherine Zeta-Jones!

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

"Of course I'm going! How could I not after you've given me such an amazing opportunity?" Felicity cleared her throat and said, "But, there are two things I want to make clear to you. First, they're looking for an actress for the fourth female role, and there won't be many scenes for that character. And secondly, Bella Young is playing the female lead." Stella was speechless. Felicity carefully watched Stella's reaction and said, "If you don't want to do it, we can just stay home. There are plenty of other auditions every year. I'll find something good for you."

I am on chapter 1700 and trust me this has to be the only book here that I have not lost interest in,i.e, the chapters have not dragged on and you literally are on the edge of your seat throughout the book. Enjoyed the whole book except the last few chapters.Hope the story doesn't become cliched now

What makes this story good are the characters, mainly the lead characters. Unlike other stories where the leads are usually portrayed as someone omnipotent with multiple hidden excellent identities, both Stella and Keegan have their own flaws and weaknesses, which made their characters more charming

Isabella almost thought she’d misheard. She stared at the director in disbelief and asked again, “I can play the second female lead?” The assistant director, with a smile in his eyes, confirmed, “Yes, you’re cast as the second female lead.” Then he shifted his tone, “Although the second female lead plays a villain, it’s a highly challenging role and one of the key pillars of this drama. If performed well, it will shine brightly and win the audience's sympathy, gaining you countless fans. But if performed poorly, it will become a one-dimensional, uninteresting character, leading to criticism and affecting your reputation, which could hinder your future prospects. So, are you up for the challe

Author, you’re very creative. The part where Lucius has prenatal depression, that’s a totally a fresh one and totally different from the novels I have read. A very refreshing one. Humour and creative. ...

Dear Author. Please can you strike a balance between the drama at the school and Isabella and Lucius? It gets really tiresome just reading of the endless schemes at the school without getting to hear about Lucius and Isabella as the title of the book is about them.

Married To The Russian Mafia Boss

Married To The Russian Mafia Boss

His eyes are locked on the screen with the type of concentration you'd expect of someone deeply invested in their favourite movie. Maybe he was being serious about Rom Coms being his favourite genre because the way his green eyes remain fixed on the screen as the scenes play out doesn't make me believe otherwise. Isn't he just full of surprises? The actress who plays the female lead is stunning and confident, and her character has the same need for control that reminds me of a certain someone. Faina.

Whirlwind Marriage to a Bully Alpha

Whirlwind Marriage to a Bully Alpha

The female lead was a girl who stemmed out of a toxic family and all the traumas that she had faced growing up were chasing her down her adulthood. The character required her to maintain a perfect balance between her normal self and her devastated self which was just a snap away from having a mental breakdown. It did not look like a very appealing role but not for Kaira who resonated with the character on a very personal level. She reminded her of her past self which ran away from New York and was made to go through all her nightmares alone. Kiara and Sophia found a lonely corner to sit down, they only had to wait for fifteen minutes as her turn came soon after.

Jace, Emily, Mark, Alice. As we walked in, all eyes turned towards us. "She's the Alpha." James said as I walked towards him. "Alpha, Katherine the hunter." James said, looking at me. The woman eyed me, from top to bottom, she looked unsatisfied, like she wanted to see someone else. "She's the Alpha?" She questioned James. "Any doubt?" I asked her, my eyes glowing red. "Uh- I was just, it's just from what I have heard Alpha's aren't that young, and specially not female, so-" she started but I cut her off.

An absolutely phenomenal book, and series!! Sad to see it come to an end, but “what a journey” it was!! Loved every book! I also loved how with each book the series and characters grew so much!! Like the author wrote that they were all a big happy family!! Would love to see this series in paperback!

Just finished this book and I am a bawling mess. I enjoyed every minute of it, whether it was joyful or heart-wrenching. I loved Aeon from the moment I heard from him in book 1 and now I can proudly say I was right about him. Thank you, Cass, for this journey. It was educating on how love works. :)

Frequently Asked Questions

One thing that consistently draws me to strong female leads is how they complicate the power dynamic itself, moving beyond just swapping a sword into a woman's hand. The real challenge to gender roles often lies in her relationship to narrative authority and emotional labor.

Take a character like El from 'The Scholomance' series. She's overwhelmingly powerful, a classic 'overpowered' protagonist, but her internal conflict isn't about suppressing that power to appear palatable. Instead, it's about managing her own corrosive cynicism and deciding whom to trust with her vulnerability. She subverts the 'caretaker' role by being a reluctant, prickly protector whose love is expressed through ruthless pragmatism.

I see a similar deconstruction in many villainess or duchess-focused stories. They're thrust into systems—royal courts, noble society—where their prescribed role is decorative or procreative. The challenge isn't just to seize political power, but to redefine what competence looks like within that framework. A great example is the protagonist of 'The Remarried Empress'. Her strength is systemic; she uses her understanding of law, protocol, and social expectation as her primary weapon, outmaneuvering those who rely on brute force or emotional manipulation. It suggests that intelligence and strategic patience are not 'masculine' or 'feminine' traits, but simply effective ones.

These characters challenge tradition not by rejecting all femininity, but by decoupling traits like empathy, diplomacy, or nurturing from weakness and re-framing them as central to a different kind of strength.
