I wasn’t even sure if he’d gotten everything settled with his frat brothers when he drove me to the airport in the morning. I tried to let those thoughts fade away while on my flight home. I put in my earbuds and decided to listen to one of the smutty werewolf audio books Hana has gotten me hooked on, Alpha Gray by CJ Primer, with Theo and Maddie as narrators. The book is HOT, and Theo’s voice… yeah, it makes for an enjoyable two-and-a-half-hour flight. I love how he changes his voice when speaking for each Alpha. Hana told me they’ve done the narration for the rest of the series, and I can’t wait to listen.

I’ve never heard of it. I’m not much of a reader of books. I’m too distractible. When the money started to come in from the farmers’ market, I got into audiobooks, though. The sound doesn’t exactly drown out the pecking voice, but I can kind of focus on the narrator, and it really helps the day go by better.

I discovered a great deal about Samuel during our little adventure together, and the experience was nothing short of enlightening. For one, I quickly realized just how incredibly sharp he was. He proudly shared with Tristan what he had been listening to on his phone—an audiobook titled “Washington: A Life” by Ron Chernow. I remembered grappling with that book during my senior year of high school at seventeen. Yet here was Samuel, just nine years old, diving deep into material that had only come to me much later in life.
