Throne of Silk and Smoke

Throne of Silk and Smoke

She held my hand, urging His Majesty to bring my marriage forward because she feared I would regret this. His Majesty looked pleased, too. He and my husband-to-be, Gideon Swain, were blood brothers. Naturally, the bond between them was stronger than others. I knew little about Gideon, even in my past life. All I knew was that he had a reputation for being a devil incarnate. He was stationed with the army in Morbeck with the task of guarding the nation's borders and rarely returned to the capital. That was why none of the noble ladies in the capital wanted to marry him.

The mafia’s captive

“Then let’s make these few hours count. We know her patterns now.” Vulture cracked a grin. “Time to weave the spider’s web around her leg, not let her ensnare us.” Sokolov’s hand rested on his rune-etched blade. “We fight with blood and steel—and magic that death itself cannot breach.” Seraphina raised the Heart of Thorns overhead. “When the Hollow Host descends, they will find only unbreakable light.” Cassian stepped forward, eyes fierce. “And the boy’s light will burn brighter than shadow.”

Kingdom of Ash and Blood

Kingdom of Ash and Blood

It was the shadow rising behind the throne. The Veil. And they were already moving. Final line: “In Sicily, power doesn’t fade—it changes hands. And when the old gods die, the ones who dare to crown themselves become monsters.”

My Seven Gorgeous Women

My Seven Gorgeous Women

Klondike was not someone a sage-grade weapon could trifle with. He raised the sword to face him. Chase could vaguely hear the sword ringing. It sounded like it was cheering joyfully. Chase decided to just let it be. He smiled bitterly as he put the sword back into his sea of consciousness. There was the Origin of Dark and Light, the Divine Blood Stone Wall, Greedy Wolf and its blade spirit, Absolute Evil in there. Now, there was also the illusory Book of Life and Death. He hoped all these could help suppress the Dark Divine Sword and the remains of Klondike inside.

Book 1: Enchanter's Realm (The Cursed Demesne)

"He might be trying to create a new spell. Spells are powerful, like summoning the spirit of nature to hear your words and abide it. Yet, some are too strong and evil that it is forbidden use." "Dark sorcery are deadly but those who control it are deemed to be supreme. You have the right to be scared of them. We suspect that their reiko came from something out of this dimension," he explained. "Like who?" I asked, though in my mind I already have an answer. "Like Olga." And there was another silence until he stood up. "You still have a class," he mentioned. Ah yes! Pierre told me to do the final creation of four elements. He seemed confident that I could create the balls of element simultan

A Sorceress Struggle

A Sorceress Struggle

The truth is that I carried the swords and spears with me all along, and they were all under an illusion spell that made them invisible I grinned as I swung an invisible blade and cut his neck in one fell swoop while he stared at me with a somewhat panicked expression His head rolled on the floor and blood gushed out, for the sake of not getting stained by that filth’s blood I was covering myself inside a force filed that would repel anything that touches it sideways

Sword of blood

Sword of blood

Exactly as seen earlier in the castle. The sword. “What does that one do?” I asked, pointing to it. “It drinks blood. For anyone it kills, their blood is stored in the blade. You would try to always have a clothing between you and the hilt” That did not sound more beneficial than fairy dust. “So how useful would it be to protect me?” With only a smile, “very” Time to close the deal. “I have one silver coin” playing with the coins against my fingers. “Make it three and we have a deal”

I hope that’s not the end end. So many left off pieces of the story all his friends on the other world, all the other gods story lines, he’s only used his blood born weapons and armour twice. Hasn’t even made it out of dreamscape yet. Still have everything in true verse going on while he “asleep”

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

Without hesitation, he stamped his foot down. The hard ground instantly became like seawater. With a crash, he disappeared into the ground. "Celestial Punishment!" "White Emperor's Prison-breaking Sword! Ten Thousand Everlasting Swords! Black-soul Dark Spirit Sword! Ten Thousand Mountains Sword! Jade Light Sun Seizing Sword! Vast Space-shattering Sword!" At this moment, the six long swords were shining in front of Caspian. They were so sharp that they could destroy time and space and cut off the light of one’s previous life.

the last 30 posts in the kingdom of oblivion has been one of the most boring updates ever. too much unnecessary talks and no actions. especially the last 15 chapters. just the Minister and the prince with endless talks. please you can do better author

Even if i still read it, this book stopped being interesting after Grand pure emperor was killed...(that is ch. 2200 maybe) It is like realms are only introduced after he reaches a peak of the previous. There is nothing special about these realms and there is nothing special about the book anymore.

Salt And Steel

Salt And Steel

Cameo asked from behind me as I stepped into the air-conditioned space. I ignored him. My fingers drifted lazily over the weapons. Metal kissing my skin, while one name burned through my mind. Abel Roshid. “Sir?” “Cameo, do as I’ve said.” My voice cut in, cold and final. His heavy sigh followed, then the sound of the door closing behind him. When I was alone, I picked the flick blade with serrated edges. Unsheathed it and ran my thumb along the ridges, feeling every bite of it. A dark smile curled on my face.

One effective method is making magic addictive. The feeling of channeling power is euphoric, and each use builds a psychological and physical dependence. The limit is the user's struggle with addiction. They need more and more to feel the same effect, and withdrawal is agonizing.

This creates a tragic arc where the pursuit of power to solve problems slowly becomes the biggest problem of all. The character's fight against their own cravings can be as compelling as any external villain. It's a very human, relatable flaw superimposed on a fantastical power.
