The voice called again. She turned, pulling the covers higher as she allowed the darkness continuous hold on her tighten. The comfortable sleep carried her and she liked it. She enjoyed it.

But it was just so messy. It’d been fun. Whispering at her and watching her search the room for the child or device. Then Bethany toyed with insignificant items on the dresser. That did it. It was so easy. But the cherry on the top. Bethany could settle a piece of her spirit temporarily with the woman. Keeping the whispers going, she listened to the woman’s frightened rambling.
