Isidora turned around slowly and the hood she had over her head fell back revealing the old wrinkled face of a woman who couldn't be less than a hundred years old. "I knew you would come. I was certain you would not resist," she said and before I could react, she held forward a pendant. And the glow inside the crystal form reminded me of Evanore's essence trapped inside the ball back in the human realm. "Foolish girl!" she spat and I found myself lifted in the air, glowing just like Evanore did when the witches were extracting her life essence. I saw her start to age backward and her wrinkles started to reduce. I felt paralyzed and couldn't do anything but wiggle like a caught fish out of w

She assured me. Soon enough, we got to the woods which led to the witch's coven. We turned in our phone touch lights, walking through the alley which led to the coven. As soon as we got there, the rocky door opened. "She knows we're coming." Celina whispered. We made it into the dark tunnel. It wasn't a new thing to us any more. Morgan el loves darkness, or maybe that's one attribute of all witches and wizards. "Welcome, M'ladies." Her voice echoed in the tunnel.

“What say ye two lads go make yourself busy doing whatever it is ye vampires do while I have a little chat with my guest?” Her comment immediately squelched all curiosity. I swallowed hard while my eyes begged Geo not to leave me alone with his centuries old mother who was also a witch. The events over the last few days were piling up on my nervous system. Too many fairytale characters were coming to life. I felt overloaded. Geo crossed the room and put his hands on my shoulders while he kissed me gently on my forehead. “It will be fine,” he whispered. “Trust me.” My legs went weak beneath me. I was grateful he still had hold on me and was able to offer support while escorting me back to

“Then, my sweet little mate… you’ll be mine completely.” “No…” I whispered, shaking my head, but the air felt heavier now—thicker. Wrong. “Start doing your work,” Damien ordered the witches. “Alpha,” one of them said carefully, “we’ll need you to restrain her. This spell requires focus.” Damien didn’t hesitate. He grabbed both my wrists tightly, his fingers digging into my skin. His grip was like iron. I kicked, I squirmed, but he didn’t let go. “Pl-please… don’t,” I sobbed, but he ignored me, nodding to the witches. “Start.” The witches raised their hands in unison, their palms glowing with eerie light. They chanted in a strange language, their voices low but growing louder, weaving around

“You were… you were possessed. You attacked us.” The words hit me like a freight train. “What?” My eyes dart across her body and I freeze when I catch sight of the deep gashes on her shoulder, the blood smeared across her shirt. My stomach turns. “Did I… did I do that?” She nods, quickly adding, “But it wasn’t you, Xander. It was never you. You were bewitched. That thing.. whatever it was, it took over you. You weren’t yourself.” A cold shiver shoots down my spine, settling in my chest like ice. Bewitched. The very word carries weight, darkness, like something ancient and cruel had crawled inside me and made me its puppet.

the water witch suggests, positioned a few feet away. "No! Stay the hell away from me!" I scream, desperation mounting. I struggle against Eric's grasp, determined to resist whatever they have planned. However, my efforts prove futile as he shoves me against the wall, securing me in place. The water witch conjures liquid from a bottle, muttering incantations for a spell. In moments, she douses my face with the enchanted water, and darkness envelops me once more. ***

“The Awakening Ritual will now commence. One at a time, present your heirloom and step into the pool.” A nervous energy swept over the room. The first student stepped forward, a witch girl with silver bangles. The moment she entered the water, a green glow wrapped around her. Wind element. Next was a tall boy from the human faction. Blue light. Water element. Then a witch boy, silver glow. Spirit. Each one succeeded. Just when I thought I’d have time to gather myself, Mark shoved past me. “She should go first,” he said loudly. “Let’s see if the half-breed can even light a spark.”

Back to Beatrice and Darwin's fight, Beatrice suddenly bites Darwin's neck, and in full force, she throws Darwin to the side, which makes him bump into the wall, Darwin was shocked as he discovers how strong Beatrice is when she's in her werewolf form. Darwin didn't get a chance to stand when Beatrice attacked him again, and this time, she bit Darwin's face and let her claw out as she began to scratch Darwin's face and body. Darwin suddenly howled in pain as Beatrice sank her sharp nails into Darwin's body. Darwin once again howled in pain as he felt Beatrice's nails inside his body, he looked at Beatrice's eye and saw how angry she was.

She didn't need anyone to tell her what it meant. It was her family's crest. Her real one. The world she'd believed in—the mortal one of market stalls, oil lamps, village superstitions, and quiet loneliness—was a dream slipping through her fingers. Now she was left with this: blood that wasn't hers, a name that carried weight, and a vampire with silver-threaded eyes who spoke in riddles and debts. Luscius Vesper. His name tasted wrong in her mouth. Like betrayal and warning twisted together.

“Fifty hostiles minimum. Half are shifter’s but corrupted. The other half? Witches. And they’re not here to negotiate.” Becky’s voice was ice. “They’re here to end me.” I tossed her twin daggers. “Then we end them first.” Eastern Perimeter 5:7 AM The woods were wrong. No birds. No breeze. Just magic dense, suffocating. Becky moved beside me like a shadow, but I could feel the tension in her frame. She was scared. She just wouldn’t say it. And then it began. The first cursed shifter leapt out of the trees. Glowing green eyes. Foaming mouth. Becky didn’t hesitate her blade sang, slicing clean through its throat.
