Not even me. I have something else, too. A third eye set into my forehead, secret and unseen. It sits a half inch above the bridge of my nose. It’s big and it’s round, and it’s the deepest, glossiest black. It shines like it’s wet, even though I’ve never cried out of it. It’s not an eye I use like a normal eye. Most of the time it keeps itself closed, and when it’s closed my flesh-and-blood eyes are open. When it’s open, my normal eyes are shut. What my real eyes show me and what this other eye says is real don’t always match. The way a black and white photograph and its color version can’t be considered identical, even though they’re both of the same thing and were taken at the same time. S

I felt something inside me shatter open. A box of thousands of visions spilled open, pulling me into the immersive world of confusion. The images move fast in my eyes. I see blood. Some, I see blissful moments. Time unravels right in my eyes, I was left spinning in it's center. I see flashes of war. I see bloodshed. I see fire. But then, my eyes caught something strange. I saw myself kneeling on a battlefield, mud and ash all around me. Piles of dead bodies all around the area. The sickening stench of blood filled the air.

The Eye Beneath A tremor spread across Black Hollow, rippling through stone, bone, and blood. The altar had split open like a broken rib cage, revealing not just darkness but consciousness. The fracture immediately sealed. Gone. Vanished. As though it had never existed. The storm remained. The rain remained.

Hearing your thoughts and seeing what you can see… What's the difference? I did not reply. I merely showed her what the difference was. In front of Snowie's stunned gaze, I thrust my finger into my right eye and forcibly plucked my eyeball out. Of course, there would not be blood or gore. After all, my right eye was a prosthetic.
