Adrian's eyes were glowing silver again. Arielle's expression changed. What did you see? Adrian looked toward the horizon. A future. Kael stepped closer. What kind? Adrian swallowed. One we haven't created. Arielle frowned. Another possibility? No. Adrian looked at Hope. Something beyond possibility. Hope's smile disappeared. What? Adrian pointed toward the sky. Someone is watching us. The clouds parted. A single enormous eye opened above the world. Not the Creator. Not the Beginning.

I just need… Blue eyes form behind my eyes, I close mine tightly willing the image to disappear. I open my eyes quickly and flip Bailey over, looking into her dig doe browns. I wildly buck into her, but her face becomes blurry and the image of a blonde with those electric blues comes flooding back skewing my vision.

You know when your mind sees something that is so utterly beautiful, so unworldly that it distinctively focuses on the pinnacle of its interest, zeroing in on that magnificent sight, having everything else blur in the background? That's what Nate's eyes did to me. The golden, caramel orbs locked on mine and it was all I could see. His eyes are red rimmed as if the surgery was still taken its toll but his face is bare and so responsive. The butterflies, the ones that have become paralyzed a few weeks back, twitch and flutter when Nate's pupils dilate and his clear, breathtaking eyes roam around my face before dropping down my body.

I felt something inside me shatter open. A box of thousands of visions spilled open, pulling me into the immersive world of confusion. The images move fast in my eyes. I see blood. Some, I see blissful moments. Time unravels right in my eyes, I was left spinning in it's center. I see flashes of war. I see bloodshed. I see fire. But then, my eyes caught something strange. I saw myself kneeling on a battlefield, mud and ash all around me. Piles of dead bodies all around the area. The sickening stench of blood filled the air.

Another tightened his grip on his weapon. Nobody laughed. Nobody dismissed it. Because everyone could feel it. The world was changing. Then the fracture widened. Only slightly. But enough. Something moved behind it. The entire wall fell silent. My heart stopped. Because for a brief moment I saw an eye. Massive. Golden. Watching. Not through the crack. Behind it. The eye blinked once. The fracture immediately sealed. Gone. Vanished. As though it had never existed. The storm remained. The rain remained.

Hearing your thoughts and seeing what you can see… What's the difference? I did not reply. I merely showed her what the difference was. In front of Snowie's stunned gaze, I thrust my finger into my right eye and forcibly plucked my eyeball out. Of course, there would not be blood or gore. After all, my right eye was a prosthetic.

I saw darkness, tall buildings, lights, and humans walking through crowded streets. Then red eyes opened inside the darkness, watching and waiting and I stepped back sharply. The vision disappeared immediately and Darius caught my arm fast. “What did you see?” I looked at him with a racing heart. “There are others.” The room became silent again and Kael frowned deeply. “Others?” I nodded slowly. “Outside the territories.” One elder scoffed. “Impossible.” But I knew what I saw. I felt it. The power connected to something beyond these lands now, beyond the packs, beyond the prophecy.
