Once we were behind the closed door of his bathroom, the mask didn't slip—not entirely. Reign sat on the edge of the tub, his breathing still shallow and pained in case she was listening at the door. I ran the water, the rhythmic splash filling the room as I worked with a clinical, detached efficiency. I cleaned the fake road rash, applying the medicine with a steady hand while Reign remained stoic. He refused the hospital, of course. "I just need to sleep it off, Dad," he muttered, his voice loud enough to carry. "Just let me go to bed."

"And they're the kinds of events that break people who aren't prepared." The air left my lungs, I couldn’t do this but he didn’t seem to care he held my face for a long moment letting everything sink in and settle in my bones. Then he straightened himself pulling me out of my spiraling thoughts. “We will get a dress tomorrow, I will book an appointment.” He said “The mask is more important than the face beneath it. "Sure son, go ahead, be careful not to break anything!" warned Cassandra to her child for she knew how clumsy he was in and out of their home. Elijah nodded and went to the nearest toilet. When he was done, he ran too fast that he did not notice one of the flower pots that were on the corner of the lobby, which might cause him to trip. Luckily, before that happened, someone prevented it and held his hand. He looked up and saw a face smiling at him. He also noticed how similar his hair color and his eyes were to the stranger.

Though I didn’t fully grasp the context, I nodded in understanding. The children continued their play, running and laughing with boundless energy. I was so absorbed in playing with Evangeline that I almost missed a boy sitting alone in the corner. His leg was bandaged, and he was quietly reading a book. The sight of his injury tugged at my heart. I excused myself from Evangeline and approached the boy, whose eyes were downcast. “Hi, baby,” I said, pinching his chubby cheeks gently. “Hello,” he replied in a low voice, a faint smile on his lips that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

A strange feeling overcame him as he rummaged through the various garments hidden underneath the bed, as if he knew deep down that something was amiss. As he probed deeper, he felt something hard and cold brush against his fingers. He frowned, his curiosity piqued, and gently pulled out the object. Instantly, his eyes widened with shock as he gazed upon the familiar mask. It was the very same one the enigmatic Mask Princess wore, its intricate design leaving him breathless.

The two guys stared up at him in wander. “I’ve got to go.” He quickly downed the remnant of the his bourbon and made to exit the booth. “Hey!” Nicolás yelled after him but Jonathan waved him off. When he was out of sight, Amancio said, “what got up his sleeve?”

Liam paused and looked back. *He seems to be in a hurry somehere.* He thought and was about to continue his sprint when he realised he wanted to do something before he bumped into the masquerade mask stranger.

Jamie replied and Lucien chuckled Caught by that manly and innocent laugh, Jamie looked at Lucien's beautiful face and smiled “I wanna see you without a mask, why wear a mask, is it part of your power?" Jamie sulkily asked Lucien stared at Jamie in trance then smiled " Just a kiss and I'll tell you," he urged, Jamie frowned and looked away, Lucien smiled leaned in and pecker Jamie's cheek “Hey.. Jamie shouted feigning annoyance, “That's not nice," Jamie added

She asked me and held my hand. I forced myself to make my smile stay pasted on my face. "Oh. Your mask." She said and pulled a mask from her pocket. She made me wear it before we walked to the parking lot of this hospital. We got in the car and the driver immediately drove us away from the hospital to the mall. I already know where we will go to register.
