I looked down the hallway and through the other side, and there was actually no one in sight. My heart hammered as I approached the large double office doors with D. BLACKWOOD engraved on the metal plate. I forced my trembling hand to knock. No answer. Great. I knocked again. Still nothing. Screw it. I pushed the door open— —and froze in place. Damian Blackwood sat behind his massive black desk. Sharp suit. Cuffed sleeves. Jaw tight enough to crack a diamond. He didn’t look up at me. Not even a glance. I opened my mouth to speak but was cut off by his deep voice.

Is he a mind reader or something? I took my eyes off of Dylan until we reached a door where I saw a familiar face. I’ve seen him once in Yuichi’s office before and if I’m not mistaken, his name is Edward. “Good morning, ma’am Christine. I’m Edward Fernandez,” he greeted with a smile. “If you tire of Dylan’s ugly face, I can replace him as your personal butler anytime.” Dylan cursed at Edward before opening the door with his keycard. When we entered, I saw Yuichi who seemed to be just sleeping. He looks handsome.

Aliyah suggested. The door opening distracted the two women and they both turned to the door to see Edward. He was dressed in black turtleneck and blank pants with black long coat, just the way he has been dressing of recent. “Out,” he ordered and Irene knew he was speaking to her and quickly turned and left the room.

“Careful, Juliet. The stage hasn’t even been set yet.” I looked up, my face burning as my eyes met the piercing grey ones of Edward Blackthorne, the leader of the drama club and the male villain of our play. He was tall, with sharp cheekbones and that annoying kind of charm that made people hang on his every word. His blonde curls fell slightly over his forehead making him look like a god. He dropped me to my feet slowly, but his hand lingered just a second too long on my waist. “Th-thank you,” I mumbled, pulling away quickly and brushing imaginary dust off my skirt.

He picked up one of the toast with his still dirty hands and bit down on it before gulping down the glass of milk. "This feels refreshing," Edward said with a loud sigh as he then reduced his eating pace. He turned to his butler who was still standing in front of him, the tray in his hands and frowned. "Don't you want to relieve your hands of its weight?" "I actually wanted to speak with you first, Your Grace," Mr Brown said. Edward dropped the toast in his hands back on the plate, wiping his crumb that was on his hands on his trousers. "I'm all ears," he said with a nod, silently praying that whatever his butler was about saying wasn't related to his choice for war.

“There you are, you little—” Before Mr. Black could reach me, Edwin stepped forward, placing himself between Black and me. He let out a low growl and held out an arm to shield me. “Watch yourself, Black.” Black froze, his jaw working as he glared at Edwin. After a moment, he cursed under his breath and stormed off down the hallway, grumbling something I could just barely make out: “Damn kid… I want my reward…” I frowned, wondering what that could mean, but before I could dwell on it, Fuller appeared in the doorway.

The former Alpha King’s butler, Edward, now happily retired and living in a small cottage just outside of town. A butler might be considered “the help” by some, but Edward was always kind to me. And Alaric’s father loved him like a brother. “How are you doing, Edward? Are you well?” I ask the old man, gently hugging him. “Fine, fine, don’t worry about me,” he says, brushing off my concerns with a wave of his hand. “What brings you to me today?” I look over my shoulder for anyone in listening distance before responding quietly, “I just need to check. My debt to the former Alpha King, it’s been fully repaid, right?”

Cecelia's entire dressing is black, so Edward had to blink his eyes twice, in order for him to know who is currently standing at his front. "Are you sure that my Mom requested we both go out and take a pic?". Cecelia asked because Edward is staring at her as if he just sees a ghost. "Ohh! let's get going!". Edward quickly typed as he showed it to her. Cecelia nods her head, and follows behind Edward while grabbing her black bag, which was hanging on the wall. Edward led the way, but he somewhat felt uncomfortable knowing fully well that Cecelia was dressed in total black. Mister Black and Sir Ezekiel had been standing outside all this while waiting for their boss.

But Edward? Edward has always been something else entirely. He hadn’t even reached the end of the hallway when I saw another figure approaching him. I squinted through the flickering corridor lights. From the silhouette—broad shoulders, covered arms and legs—I could tell immediately it was a man. Black trousers. Black long-sleeved shirt. Hair pinned, parted sharply to the side. Just like him. A man I knew too well. A man I was painfully familiar with. And yet… I felt nothing. Or so I thought. But the moment I saw him hug Edward, something inside me snapped.

“It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Blackwood.” “Please, call me Edward,” he said, his tone kind. “Welcome to our home.” Kate glanced around, noticing a woman sitting on the couch. She was elegant, with sharp features and an air of cold detachment. She didn’t smile as Kate entered, her gaze flickering over her with barely concealed disdain. “This is my wife, Victoria,” Edward said, gesturing to the woman. Victoria nodded curtly but said nothing. Seth squeezed Kate’s hand, his touch reassuring. “Come on,” he said. “Let’s sit down.”
