The Alpha Who Forgot Me
A sound like a whip cracking tore through the air.
A black, feathered shaft erupted from Nash’s shoulder, burying itself deep into the muscle just above his collarbone.
Nash grunted, the impact driving him backward into me, knocking the wind out of me. He slumped against us, his face contorted in sudden, agonizing pain.
"Nash!" I screamed.
He caught himself with one hand, his breathing coming in sharp, ragged gasps. He looked down at the arrow. It wasn't made of wood. It was carbon fiber, and the tip was glowing a sickly purple.
