Children giggled as they chased dancing light wisps, and everywhere, there was music — soft, lilting tunes played on crystal flutes. They revealed themselves at midday. Two figures stepped out from behind a cluster of boulders. They were tall and slender, their skin the color of ash, their hair white as bone. Dark elves. Their eyes were solid black, no whites, no pupils, just darkness that seemed to drink the light. They wore leather armor studded with metal spikes, and each carried a curved blade at their hip. The taller one smiled. His teeth were sharp. "Travelers," he said. His voice was smooth, almost musical. "What brings you so close to our border?"

While the young chief was proceeding forward along with his followers, a young ellon with five companions was awaiting for them like some hungry wolves for its delicious prey to the left side of the valley. They were wearing the very same black armor like the dokkalfars, their hairs and eyes were pitch dark, but their facial appearance and skin color were the same as other elves and were as handsome and beautiful as normal elves.
