Alpha Connor Finley BlackPaw of the BlackPaw pack is starting to have an increasing problem with rogues. They’ve been testing the security fencing around the pack trying to find their vulnerable spots. BlackPaw increased their patrols and brought all pack members closer to the center of town where they had an underground shelter for emergencies. He needed help so he called a neighboring ally, the Shadow Mountain pack that was located about an hour away. Alpha Kelvin Shadow dispatched two squads of his elite shadow warriors to assist the BlackPaw pack.

“Warm chocolate.” She held it carefully. “Thank you.” Mike hesitated. “Clara… whoever those things were—they knew your name. They knew your blood. If we’re going to protect you, we need to be ready.” Her eyes lifted. “You still want to help me?” “Of course,” he said without hesitation. “You didn’t run when things got dangerous. Neither will we.” Footsteps approached. James and Bridget joined them, both dressed in dark clothes. Bridget clapped once. “Alright team—Operation Trap The Shadow Clowns starts tonight.”

Lastly, Music, Arts and Physical Education Teacher Susana Cervantes and Science Teacher Mike Olarte headed the Cavalry Team. Since they had to draw lots in deciding their team, Dawn and her friends naturally were not all in the same team. Ashlyn and Annalise were Dominators. Phoebe and Kathleen were in Legends. Valerie, Jazmin and Carissa were in Gladiators. Then there’s Dawn, Aria, Frances and Katerina in Cavalry. As they were deciding the colors for the team, Dominators chose black. Legends chose blue. Gladiators went for yellow. Cavalry decided on army green.

I read in a book yesterday that for werewolves this is a sign of absolute submission. The Alphas behind us stay quiet, having already heard about the Death Squad’s intentions. Everyone watches in complete silence as the guys get up one by one and place a light kiss to the back of my hand as they pledge their loyalty to me. Well almost everyone. The venue behind the Pack-house is even worse and many of the guests are making whispered comments about it. “Why is there a Squad from the Elders walking around?” Pearl asks and another Luna answers her question. “They are here for a learning experience, the Elders do this more often and I must say that it is good for them to see how an event like this works.” She says and Pearl is nodding her head at the Luna’s answer. Their gear is tailor-made for each member of the Squad, it is an almost completely black outfit and it has red accents along the sides of the arms and legs. You can only see them on their arms if their coat is off and so far I haven’t seen anyone wearing their coat.

We moved in like whispers into the cold. Split into four wings, no sound but breath, boots, and orders passed in sign language. Felix and the Ghost Squad veered east through the overrun warehouse ruins. Scales’ demolition boys sliced north across the scrapyard fences. They were also preparing everything before they would leave tomorrow in order to meet the Blood Moon Pack. Travis's group was composed of six werewolves including himself and his beta, Diego. The other four members were Ashton, Kevin, Rolly, they were the most skilled werewolf fighters of the pack, and Alexa, one of the deltas. Travis gave them the final instructions.

I replied without hesitation. “So who’s going?” Liam asked, looking around warily. “The three of us,” I gestured to myself, Alpha Bruce, and Liam, “and Grace. We join them. Keep eyes on every corner. And if there’s anything to gain from this chaos... we’ll be the ones holding the knife when it comes.” THE BLOOD LUNA.
