Black Emperor Game Novels & Stories

Although not how I intended, the game just began. I pulled two bottles of beer from the fridge and handed them both to Alpha Drake. He asked why two and I told him he would just need another soon. He chuckled again. The sound of his laughter made something stir in the pit of my stomach and as much as I hate to admit it I could feel moisture pooling between my thighs. I had to shut that down immediately. I can’t hurt him if he is in control. My brother called me through our mind link, all wolves have the ability to mind link with their pack. Bo was cancelling. He simply stated something had come up. Oh boy I was in trouble now, or maybe Drake was. I asked if he felt about chilling at the pool

A heavy, deafening THUD echoed from the reinforced steel garage doors three floors below, sending a violent vibration straight up through the concrete floorboards. "They're inside," Malakai hissed, his eyes turning entirely black as his corporate mask shattered, leaving nothing but the apex predator. In a single, fluid motion, he reached under the marble counter, tearing a tactical sidearm from its magnetic holster and tossing a sleek, black subcompact pistol across the island to me. "Ari, move. Now." I caught the weapon out of pure muscle memory, the cold weight of the steel instantly snapping my mind back into the hyper-calculated focus of the Ghost. The civilian world vanished. The Sun Emperor screamed, seeing the direction of the attack sent by the black dragon. That place was the Sun Empire, where many living creatures were waiting for the return of their families who had gone to the battlefield, and he, the Sun Emperor, had promised to return to protect them for the rest of his life, but now...

“What’s your game?” The man’s lips curved into a faint smile beneath his mask. “We are the ones who see things clearly. The Emperor’s empire is built on lies, and you, Blackthorn, are just a pawn in his game. The question is—are you going to keep playing for him, or are you going to join us and help bring it all down?” Eva took a step forward, her expression hardened. “I’m not interested in your ‘offer.’ What I want is to stop this—stop the experiments, stop the manipulation. I want my sister back, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get her.”

[Atticus] Laz records the results, documenting this decision in the meeting log and we move on to the next element of the game--choosing the method. As last year’s winner, I get to choose. “I thought we’d go a bit ‘old school’ for this year’s game,” I announce as I stand and pull an old deck of cards from the pocket of my jacket. “Like Old Testament. How many of you know the seven deadly sins?” Evie yawns, stretching her arms above her head. “BOOOOORING,” she moans, opening her perfectly painted mouth wide. “Sloth, lust, greed, envy, blah blah blah. When did you get religious, Ace?”

Black smoke slithered between tents like a sentient being watching and searching. On the far left side of the camp, she could see a large group of beasts gathering. Embertaurs with their shadowy bodies and yellow eyes made up about a third of the group, but the other were unlike any creature she’d seen before. Biped beasts with dark feathered wings and scaled heads with four eyes clicked their strange beaks. Creatures that had bodies similar to those of alligators but with long necks flicked forked tongues and swung their clubbed tails. Another with the head of a bull and body of a lion standing on two legs sprouted armored plates down its back. Wings, beaks, scales, horns, and fur flashed o

Kimber stood by, watching the ensuing chaos in horror. “Dragon, I'll get you, all of you,” he screamed, as Nick and Adam held him down. But Madchen paid no attention, as she watched Drago turn a shade of blue, and foam at the mouth. “Drago!” She dropped to her knees, shaking him by the shoulders, but he didn’t respond. Instead, he stared up at the lights, seeming catatonic. His green eyes faded to a deep black, rolling to the back of his head.

While the young chief was proceeding forward along with his followers, a young ellon with five companions was awaiting for them like some hungry wolves for its delicious prey to the left side of the valley. They were wearing the very same black armor like the dokkalfars, their hairs and eyes were pitch dark, but their facial appearance and skin color were the same as other elves and were as handsome and beautiful as normal elves.
