On finally catching a glimpse of the crest on the new letter, Lena gasped. “That sly creature!” She gasped in outrage. I looked in surprise from her outraged face to that of the Gamma who stood with a straight face. “What is this crest?” I asked. “And what does it mean?” I asked, this time turning to our Gamma for an explanation. Lena looked too angry to explain. He answered almost immediately.

I kneeled in front of him and gently took his hands in mine. "Only for a moment, but I'm right here with you. Use the mate bond to ease the pain and you'll be fine." I reassured. He nodded and took a deep breath. "Here goes." He sighed. "I, Elijah Black, Omega of the Midnight Pack, hereby cut all ties with the Midnight Pack and will become a Rogue." His face immediately contorted in pain and he put his hands on his head, groaning. I pressed my forehead against his and hoped that my presence might ease the pain a bit.

But this time I dreaded it more than the first. My eyes shot wide. There he was standing in all black , with a hoodie over his face. I peered closer, the only thing I could make out was the sinister smile that reached up the shadow hiding the rest of his face. After thinking it over, I got in the car. It was late, and it was hard to get a taxi in the villa district at this hour. Zayden drove me to the hospital to get my scraped palms treated. By the time everything was done, and I got home, it was already past midnight. I thanked him.
