But then I pushed my sight past the quartz and touched the spinning black water in the center. The shock was absolute. It was a void. There was no heat. There was no vibration. There was only a terrifying, infinite hunger. The abyssal spark wasn't pushing force outward like an explosion; it was pulling everything inward. It was a microscopic black hole of pure, localized hydrostatic gravity. I opened my eyes, ripping my deep sight away from the crystal, gasping for air as if I had just been dragged underwater.
