Chapter 6: The Gates of Deadwood The heavy iron gates of the Obsidian Court groaned under the weight of a thousand snarling wolves. From the top of the castle’s stone battlements, the view was terrifying. The dense tree line of the Deadwood Forest had been chopped away by the southern alliance. Standing in perfect, brutal military formation were the warriors of four different packs. At the vanguard stood Alpha Colton, his eyes bloodshot, wearing heavy silver-plated battle armor. Beside him were three older Alphas, their faces grim and eager for blood.

Killian stood at the front of the line, his charcoal wolf form towering over the gates, surrounded by thousands of Blackwood defectors and Northern Frost-Guard. "The North doesn't have a tomb, Elder," I said. "We have a throne. And if you want it, you’ll have to come and take it from the Silver Queen."
