"I told you," she whispered, her voice slicing through the air like a blade. She paused, letting the words sink in. "It was your lucky day."
Then, with a terrible crack, she wrenched her mouth open even wider—too wide. A monstrous, gaping maw.
"No—!"
My scream caught in my throat as the witch bit down.
Beth’s head tore clean off.
Blood sprayed in a horrific arc, splattering across the walls, the floor—my face. Beth’s body twitched once, then went still, her lifeless form dropping to the ground with a sickening thud.
