I look up to see Beckett walking to me with a look of amazement on his face.
“Your eyes? They’re purple!” My eyes?
“And your hands? What are those? That is so cool.” As he reaches me, the air in the room feels lighter. I guess the jig is up.
I pull out my hands from under the table but to my surprise, my blades are gone.
“Where’d it go? And your eyes are blue again, what happened?” Beckett asks, his look of amazement slowly fades.
“You saw that?”
“Saw it? I felt it. Me and June, but she left after the third sneeze.” He laughs but I don’t. This is bad.
