~ Ivy ~ The first thing I felt was a slow, heavy throb behind my eyes. It felt like a dull metal hammer hitting the inside of my skull over and over. Then came the smell. It was sharp and clean, like bleach and cold plastic. I blinked. The light above me was too bright, making my eyes water. I tried to lift my right arm to block the glare, but something pulled tight against the back of my hand. A small plastic tube was taped to my skin, and a clear liquid was dripping down from a tall metal pole.

I took advantage of his momentary unbalance as he rubbed his eyes, knowing that I only had a second. I unscrewed the cap from the bleach bottle and threw the contents at him, causing him to scream out in pain as bleach covered his face and hair. I grabbed the broom and, finding sudden strength, rammed my foot into the wooden handle, breaking it in half.

It would all be gone as time goes on, but the damage would stay for a while. Alex knew that the undiluted bleach was something that had too much chlorine in it and that could be dangerous to the body. She was going to have to go to the hospital. Suddenly I was shocked when I felt like there was an obstruction in my eye that was a bit painful and my vision turned red. Even though my head hurt, I was able to rub my eyes and was shocked by what I was seeing. I have blood on my hand. That blood came from my eyes. My eyes are bleeding. I can see how scared Elijah is. He tried to pick me up to take me out of the pyramid but suddenly my body sank into the floor creating a big groove around it.

Bree woke up feeling absolutely awful. Her mouth tasted sour, so she hurried to the bathroom and threw up. Only saliva came out, and she felt dizzy from getting up too fast. The bitter, acidic taste lingered in her mouth. She wiped her lips and splashed water on her face. When she looked at herself in the mirror, that was when she noticed her swollen eyes. And then the memories from last night came crashing down on her like an avalanche. As soon as she remembered what she had witnessed, the pain returned full force. Her eyes watered again.
