I buried my face in my arms as a stabbing pain exploded behind my eyes. Tears spilled down my cheeks—hot, uncontrollable. Until they turned red. The nurse beside me screamed, her voice trembling with panic. "Her eyes…! She's bleeding from her eyes!"

I can hear their screams and shouts of both agony and rage making me smile in satisfaction. I'm just glad the whole shop was soundproof. “These would be a good addition to my collection,” I informed him absentmindedly while reaching for the bleach on the cabinet below the table. “This would hurt but you'll live,” I mumble as I washed his wounds with bleach. Scream after scream erupted from his mouth while his body convulsed uncontrollably as the pain intensified. “Pl-please ju-just ki…kil…kill me.” He croaked out in a barely audible voice before passing out.

My eyes widened as I saw Achilles, lying on the floor looking in extreme pain, his hand on his chest and coughing aggressively. I ran over to him immediately. My breath quickened. “God–Achilles, what—what…” I looked at a bottle of bleach kept beside him. Gasping, I stood up and ran around to find water. Picking up a one-litre bottle, I rushed back and forcefully put the bottle in his mouth. He opened his mouth and started drinking it. “Oh god, Y-You’re gonna be fine,” I whispered, not knowing what else to say before getting up and calling 911 immediately.

Somehow, some way, we would find our way back to each other eventually. Standing up from the bleachers, I smoothed out my sundress and prepared to head back inside. That's when disaster struck. A stray football went whizzing past out of nowhere, kicking up a cloud of dust and sand that blasted right into my face. I let out a startled yelp as the grit assaulted my eyes, immediately screwing them shut against the stinging pain. "Oh my gosh!" I gasped out, hands flying up to cover my eyes as tears started leaking out. The sting was so intense, it felt like my eyeballs were literally on fire.

“It sounded like a scene from The Exorcist.” I brace the wet cloth against my lips to stifle a giggle. “I was worried I would see slugs hit the toilet water or a demon crack through your spine,” he continues. “Stop,” I plead. I rise to rinse my face and hands in the sink behind Jackson. He watches with rapt attention as I wet my toothbrush, then rinse my teeth and tongue. I’ve learned toothpaste upsets me sometimes. I read online to use water sometimes and toothpaste as I can tolerate it. I look at my reflection in the mirror. I have tiny bruise dots surrounding both eyes. I will need to research these online. I try to hide my worry about the dots decorating the edges of my eyes.

Babe’s POV The most outstanding thing about my ear bleed was the fact that I couldn't feel any pain even though the blood wouldn’t stop until the nurse applied some funny-looking ointment that was strangely pale yellow. “Are you sure the ointment is safe?” I asked the nurse for the umpteenth time before leaving the school clinic. “Don’t worry you’ll be fine. It has already healed you. All you have to do is stay away from noises for the main time” She explained and I nodded.

Just how I liked it. By the time I finished, my scalp burned slightly, a prickling reminder of the lengths I was willing to go. I washed my hands, the cold water soothing against my skin. As I rinsed off the bleach, droplets splattered against the porcelain sink, swirling down the drain. Then a honk startled me. Short. Loud. Annoying.

Blood made me queasy—a deep, irrational fear. "A little. Am I bleeding? If I am, don't tell me. Actually, no, do tell me," I rambled. "If I see blood, I might faint. I'm serious—I'll literally faint." "There are a few tiny glass shards embedded in your hand. I'll remove them with tweezers. Hold still," he instructed, sounding very professional. His calm voice soothed my nerves. The process was uncomfortable, but as he kept reassuring me that he was almost done, I felt myself relax. The only thing that didn't ease was the burning sensation in my eyes—they were still red and irritated.

I let out a sharp breath and pushed the bedsheet away. “I really thought it was dye, I promise.” I defended myself, though not with much confidence, feeling quite confused. I truly believe that was bleach. I believed it was simply the natural shade of blue that would make it appear whiter. “Take a look,” she said, pulling out the bleach she had brought and opening it for me to see. It is nearly colorless, much like water. I trembled in disbelief; this was worse than anything I had ever experienced.
