It was followed by a flash of white light. Hannah's figure became increasingly blurry. It was as if she were being scattered by the wind. She quickly shouted at me. "Evan, you have to live well. Wait for me. I'll come find you." When she opened her eyes again, she had returned to her senior year of high school. She looked at her phone. The date had gone back to the 21st of February. It was the day the time-space distortion first appeared. But this time, my voice no longer came from the empty space.

*Is he back too? Her thoughts shatter when Travis hisses in pain. He stares down at his bleeding finger, surprise flashing across his face, as if he doesn’t understand how he ended up here. He looks at the soup, the sliced oranges, and then at her. His confusion deepens, his brows drawing together. Dawn leans against the doorframe, her gaze fixed on him. “Some habits never change, even after time traveling.” The sound of the knife clattering to the floor makes her jump. But what truly startles her is the expression on Travis’s face. He looks at her like he’s seen a ghost.

Instead, he bent down and held Alee, trying to console her or whatever he was doing.
