It lay there now in useless piles. Xena’s hands worked fast. When she finished, she handed me the scissors and sat down. I stood. My hands shook only a little as I cut her long blonde hair, and she didn’t flinch once. Then the dye. She mixed the ginger red for me, and the smell didn’t fail to burn my nose. She worked it through what remained of my hair. Raven Moonshadow was officially dead. For Xena’s turn, we settled for a dye that turned her blonde hair brunette. It was perfect for blending into crowds.

Zaire sat two booths away with his teammates, all in their stupid matching red and black varsity jackets, laughing so obnoxiously loud over something that probably wasn't even funny. My heart literally skipped a beat the second my eyes found him. He had a fresh fade, and his dreadlocks were braided into double-strand twists, which looked so fucking good on him. His jawline was sharp, high cheekbones, and I couldn't help my eyes that slowly drifted down to his full pink lips.

"Time for you to blue me." I follow her back to the bathroom, where she's dumped the contents of the pot of dye into the same plastic bowl she used to mix up her bleach, but now there's a different tint brush on the side of the sink and a box of disposable gloves. She sits down in the chair and tosses her head forward to remove the towel, revealing her freshly bleached, untoned hair. "How do you feel now that the brown is all gone?" I ask her, sectioning her hair off with clips. The bleach has dried it out a little, but there's not too much damage.

“I’m here now. While I can keep my presence and eyes hidden, I cannot disguise our hair. Tell them you dyed it. After this birthday, we’re enrolling in Camp Elysium to be closer to our mate.” (“I like that plan. I like it very much,”) I replied, excitement bubbling within me. *** The next morning, I woke to find my hair transformed to a brilliant white, a striking contrast to its former hue. The circles under her eyes and pimples were getting harder to hide with make-up, meaning she looked worse than the girls she used to tease at school. I sing and dance in the mirror while drying my hair. It takes me an hour to dry my hair and straighten it. especially since I am singing and dancing in between. I look at the girl in the mirror, I am just getting used to the blonde hair, and bleaching my hair on the regular. But I think I might look better as a blonde. I run my fingers through my hair. My eyes move down to my breasts, I have hot pink lace bra on. The perfect amount of cleavage is visible. My eyes land on the scar just below my navel. One of my many battle scars but the only one that has not faded. I let my fingers trace the scar. It runs from one hip bone to the other.

I had no idea what to feel after knowing that Damien had been planning for this way ahead of time. My stylist had even changed my hair by removing the black dye and bleaching my hair to a beautiful blonde that reached just to my shoulders. I had loved my black and red hair, especially since it had been a reminder of Damien in my life when we had been apart. But now, I had no use of it since he was with me.

Despite their individual smart choice in dress, The chilly late November air still made both girl’s teeth chatter as they exchanged an excited look. “Yep! She closed her eyes, breathing steadily, relaxed. She was so thin. It hurt to see her like this. Finally, once I had finished washing her, I took out the bottles of dye remover. It wasn’t bleach but she said it might not work as well on hair that was really light with a really dark color. I was into bottle three when I could actually see streaks of her old color. Auri was patient, arms wrapped around her knees in the warm water as I scrubbed through the color in her hair.
