A Blessing in Disguise

A Blessing in Disguise

It was a quiet, sleepy town, the streets empty save for a few early risers going about their business. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the challenge ahead. I ate a few pieces of the biltong I took from the cottage. I also ate some dried fruit mixture that I couldn't quite place. But it was delicious and fulfilling. I topped that with the water I collected from the stream and I felt very strengthened for the day. The air was a bit chilly, just the way I love it. And the village began to stir with the first stirrings of life. I slipped out of the shed, careful to keep to avoid drawing attention.

When He Becomes The Prince's Only Salvation

When He Becomes The Prince's Only Salvation

“There’s a backpack in the nearby cabinet. Take it with you; it’ll be more convenient for carrying things.” Leon hesitated for a moment, but then obediently walked over to the nearby cabinet and took the backpack. It was soft to the touch, deep black in color, and embroidered with delicate runes—something extraordinary. Rose watched him with a pleased smile, her voice full of warmth. “Such a well-behaved boy.” Zalethos raised an eyebrow, his tone dripping with lazy amusement. “Indeed, a good child. I’m glad my gift was so well received too.”

She ran back to him, tilting her head up: “You scared the butterfly away. I want compensation.” “Alright. I’ll compensate you.” Frigga froze for a moment, then pointed at the bottle of star-sand in his hand. “I want to play with that.” “This is used during wars or long journeys to guide soldiers along their route. What do you want it for?” “Of course—because it looks pretty.” “Alright.”

He didn’t look too sure, but he nodded slowly as he grabbed a backpack off one of the chairs. “I packed this for you on the off chance that you were allowed to go with them,” he said, handing me the bag. “It’s medical supplies you’ll need. I also packed extra water and some food in there. Use it wisely. I’m not sure how long the travel will be, and who knows what you’ll find there once you arrive.” “Thank you,” I said to him, as I put the backpack on. “Hopefully, we won’t be gone too long, and I’ll be able to return here and help you.”

When You Least Expect It

When You Least Expect It

Phones and game consoles were slipped back into their pockets and bags -on excursion days, you couldn't stop anyone from bringing in the gadgets- and some of them threw me funny glances as if to say 'good luck with that'. I sighed deeply and made a final effort. My right hand was immobile under Chris's weight so with my left hand I grabbed the closest thing to me which happened to be my backpack. I opened it one hand and felt around for anything useful. Notebook, nope. Water bottle, nope, I wasn't going to waste my precious water on him. Water was a precious commodity whenever we went on excursions, no one ever seemed to have enough. Perfume, no-yes, perfect. Never bother about why I packed

I don't know about anyone but i just love the conversations in this book. It's very realistic, and relatable, and the way the friendship between those four friends were portrayed was marvellous. I could see myself reading more and more of this book. Kudos Author.

This is really interesting! I love the portrayal of the MC as most young guys are portrayed as sexual creatures or narcissistic ones. And I love the relationship with his sister, it's so real and natural. Nice work!

The weight of responsibility rests on my shoulders, but I am ready to bear it. Arriving at the pack house, I take a moment to gather my thoughts. The atmosphere is charged with anticipation as my team members join me, their expressions mirroring my own determination. We exchange brief nods, silently acknowledging the gravity of the situation. Together, we meticulously gather all the necessary supplies and essentials for our mission. Maps, flashlights, first aid kits—each item is carefully selected and packed, ensuring that we are fully equipped to face whatever lies ahead. The weight of the backpack on my shoulders serves as a constant reminder of the task that awaits us.

Moonstone - A Goddess Among Us

Moonstone - A Goddess Among Us

In the distance my eyes spot Jaxson’s backpack lying on the ground, and I had to wonder if there was anything packed in it that I could use to defend myself. Slowly and carefully, I begin to step backwards away from the two wolves making my way towards the backpack, as the two wolves snarled at each other, like they were sizing each other up. Finally, I reached the backpack, lowering myself to the ground to unzip it. Reaching inside it, I pulled out a couple of bottles of water, the candy bars that I had bought at the convenience store, a first aid kit, and lighter, nothing that would help me.

Absolutely incredible! Moonstone is a book that encompasses survival, justice, family, love, mates, discovery and understanding. This book brings you on a journey of Quinn's life from the time she meets Jaxon, Bishop and Tanya, as she opens up about her past and how all will change in the future.

In all honesty, the book is really good, but there are a lots of repetitions and I miss Jaxson’s POV from the first few chapters. There are parts where I feel like details are missing, like how did he found out that they are mates. I recommend to go through this with your editor if you have one :)

Alpha's Regret: Reclaiming His Gifted Luna

Alpha's Regret: Reclaiming His Gifted Luna

"Her little sister is dying." I try not to show shock at her boldfaced lie, and I duck my head in what I hope he interrupts as sorrow. "All right," he agrees. "But this makes us even." "That it does," she replies without hesitation. I don’t have time to ask what that was all about. Before I know it, she’s shoving a backpack into my hands. I peek inside and find food, cash, a sewing kit, a flashlight – things I might need on the road.

Bound by Two

“Mum–” She shook her head, encouraging silence from me and pulled me closer, resting her forehead on mine. I embraced that silent love she offered me. “Know your truth,” she whispered, “stay true to who you are, my sweet boy.” With her free hand, she placed something heavy in my hand. I looked down to see it was a backpack, my eyes flickered, looking back at her in disbelief. “They told me to prepare something for you, j-just in case…" she sniffled. Feeling her step back away from me hurt more than the banishment itself. I watched as she fell into my brother’s arms and cried harder, praying to the Moon Goddess to protect me.

Frequently Asked Questions

One of the most touching things about 'Pocketful of Miracles' is how it blends gritty realism with heartwarming redemption. At its core, the story revolves around second chances—how even the most hardened people can change when kindness enters their lives unexpectedly. Dave the Dude, a gangster with a soft spot for superstitions, goes to absurd lengths to help a struggling apple seller transform into a 'respectable' woman for his own luck. But what starts as selfishness slowly unravels into genuine compassion. The film’s magic lies in that shift—how small acts of generosity, even from flawed people, ripple outward.

Frank Capra’s direction amplifies this with his signature blend of humor and sentimentality. The apple seller, Apple Annie, isn’t just a charity case; her dignity becomes central to the story. By the end, the ‘miracle’ isn’t just her temporary glamour but the way her plight softens an entire underworld. It’s a reminder that grace often hides in chaotic places, and even cynical hearts can be rewritten. I always tear up at the final scenes—there’s something profoundly human about watching scrappy, imperfect characters stumble into goodness.
