Blessings In A Backpack Novels & Stories

"Yes, I bought them. They're all in here. You know what? There's a sharpener on the end of my new pencil case! The pencils inside are nice too. There's a cactus-shaped one! And the eraser smells good! I like to smell it. Mommy kept reminding me that it's not edible. Also, I bought a new water bottle. The straw will come out when you open the lid. That way, I don't have to worry about spilling water when I drink." River blinked at Summer's report. "I get it. You bought a lot of stuff. But why are you still wearing this backpack? You could have bought a new one." "Because this is my favorite backpack. It has followed me to many places. We have so many memories. I'll never replace it," Summer p

"We're already racing against time." Kai and Ivy brought over the two backpacks that had been prepared for us. Inside were maps, several protective talismans from the runemasters, and basic supplies. As I slipped mine onto my shoulders, I caught Cassian adjusting the straps of his own pack before pulling his leather jacket into place.

A scarf and hat were thrust on me and I felt like a human furnace. Howen showed me the rest of the backpack. A map, spares clothes and a heap of dried, wrapped food. A small can of fuel for lighting fires, matches. Water bottle. Torch. Ropes. Sleeping bag. A full mini kit to get me south. In return I dived into my hooded top pocket and retrieved two envelopes. One went in the pocket of my leather jacket, the other to Howen.

Then why on Goddess’ name would he say ‘we’, right? I was slapped into reality when Nurse Rebecca handed us the mission bags. They are filled with easy-to-eat foods, tonics, first aid kits, and even some medical equipment in case of emergencies, like minor surgeries. Now, this really makes me forget all of my selfish and personal worries for a second. I gaped as I peered inside. Just how dire is the situation for us to be in need of these things? Miss Helen hugged and thanked Nurse Rebecca. “You are simply the best!”

Sarreth added that I could not understand. Ah, we are now on our way to meet that mysterious goddess of mine and yes, Sam gave me a backpack. It’s just not a normal backpack because of a lot of stuff inside. Of course, I could feel the weight of the backpack Sam had given me. The backpack is black with no design. Only the silver zipper holder is the unique color that I liked. And locker? The fuck is locker, anyway? I stared at the black card I was holding. What is this card for? Why do I have a name here?

“Miss Holly, make sure to stick close to Belle and your nanny, alright?” “Sir Ajax,” the driver says, heading over to him. “Would you like to leave your things in the car?” “No thanks. I’m fine with carrying this.” Ajax slings his backpack effortlessly behind him. Seeing how the weight shifts as he carries it, I know that it’s heavy. “Geez, what do you have in there? Camping things?” I can’t help but wonder while staring at his backpack. “Are you planning to leave school? If you are, allow me to be the first person to thank you for doing me a HUGE favor.”

"What... is this for?" The woman took a look at it and explained to her with a smile, "This is a lucky bag to pray for blessings. If you have a wish, you can write your wish on a note, put the note into the bag, and then hang it on the blessing tree at the top of the mountain. It works." "Really?" After asking, Elizabeth added with excitement, "Will my dream come true as long as I write it down and hang it on the tree?"

Lina I cinch the straps on the second backpack until the fabric creaks, then smooth my hands over the worn canvas like it might calm me. Food. Water. Bandages. A change of clothes. Enough to keep two women alive if luck stays on our side. Luck hasn’t been generous lately. My fingers slip beneath the inner seam of my dress, pressing against the small, solid weight hidden there. The Heart. It’s warm against my skin, like it knows what’s coming.

He’s standing under the tree, grinning like he just won the lottery, holding a bundle of small backpacks in his hands. “Well done. You’re halfway,” he announces, his voice annoyingly cheerful. “For the descent, you’re all going to need one of these.” He holds out a backpack, and my stomach drops. The pack looks small enough, but there’s no way this is just some casual accessory. There’s a catch. There’s always a catch. I step forward and grab one, and the second I lift it, my arm nearly gets yanked out of its socket. It’s weighted. Of course, it’s fucking weighted.

"Supplies of course. It contains everything you'll need on your trip, I packed it secretly since I knew you were going to come to me. You didn't really think you could wander into the Forbidden Zone empty handed, did you? The harsh environment there would kill you even before the traps. It contains food that'll last the both of you for five days if managed appropriately, some water, a change of clothes, sleeping bags, a compass, a blanket and a few other things you might need." She enlisted. "You really did prepare. Thank you so much, I have no idea what I would have done without your help." I voiced gratefully as Axel moved forward and picked up the backpack before hanging it over his shoul
